    Abstract: A fuel cell and a method for producing the same are provided. The fuel cell includes a membrane electrode assembly and a gas diffusion layer that is disposed at each of opposite surfaces of the membrane electrode assembly, and includes a plurality of compressed parts that are formed by pressure at positions spaced out at predetermined intervals on the gas diffusion layer. The fuel cell further includes a separator that is in contact with an outer surface of the gas diffusion layer, and has a plurality of land parts that protrude toward the gas diffusion layer, and a plurality of channel parts that form flow paths between the land parts. The land parts respectively protrude toward the compressed parts of the gas diffusion layer to come in contact with the compressed parts.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a fuel cell stack having a cathode-side separator and an anode-side separator which are made of different materials to prevent performance degradation of stacks and corrosion and damage of components. A fuel cell stack according to exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure may have multiple unit cells stacked therein, in which each unit cell of the multiple unit cells may include: a membrane electrode assembly (MEA); a pair of gas diffusion layers (GDLs) disposed on opposite surfaces of the MEA; and an anode-side separator and a cathode-side separator disposed to face each other, the MEA and the pair of GDLs being disposed therebetween, in which the cathode-side separator has a corrosion resistance higher than a corrosion resistance of the anode-side separator.

    Abstract: A separator for a fuel cell and a method for manufacturing the same comprise two sheets of metal plates integrally formed to minimize contact resistance between an upper metal plate and a lower metal plate. The method for manufacturing the separator includes steps of preparing an upper metal plate and a lower metal plate, each plate having opposing main sides, and applying a coating liquid containing a polymer composite material on both sides of the upper and lower metal plates, to form first and second composite material layers on both sides of the upper plates and third and fourth composite material layers on both sides of the lower plates. The method further includes stacking the upper metal plate on the lower metal plate, before drying the respective composite material layers, and integrally bonding the second composite material layer and the third composite material layer to form a single intermediate composite material layer.

    Abstract: An apparatus preventing over-cooling of a fuel cell is provided that includes a cooling fluid manifold which is mounted to a stack of the fuel cell and through which cooling fluid flows therethrough. End plates are arranged on both ends of the stack of a fuel cell, and at least one protrusion is provided on one surface of each of the end plates. The at least one protrusion is disposed inside a cooling fluid manifold to reduce the flow amount of the cooling fluid which flows in and out between the separating plates through the cooling fluid manifold.
