摘要： A process for crystallizing L-alpha-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester from its aqueous solution by cooling, which comprises adjusting the initial concentration of the ester so that the amount of a precipitated solid phase to be formed after cooling becomes about 10 grams or more per liter of the solvent, cooling the solution through conductive heat transfer through a cooled surface to form an apparently sherbet-like pseudosolid phase without causing forced flow by mechanical stirring or the like, and optionally further cooling the system after formation of the pseudosolid phase, is disclosed along with various apparatuses which may be used to carry out the invention.

摘要： A vibration damper for use with an apparatus for applying liquid to both sides of a running web and then drying the web with an air drier. Vibrations induced by the air drier are damped by uniformly blowing air on both sides of the running web between the drier and the liquid application heads. Preferably, the gas ejection surfaces are stepped or tapered so allow larger vibrations near the drier but to reduce the allowed vibration nearer the liquid application heads.

摘要： A web coating method and apparatus includes a web scraping mechanism arranged after a coating section, the scraper being in the form of a wire bar. The scraping efficacy of the device is improved by forming the wire bar from small gauge wire wound upon a circular or polygonal rod, where the radius of curvature of the wire is 2 mm or less. If desired, the wire bar may be rotated relative to the web as scraping is effected.

摘要： A suspension apparatus for a vehicle having left and right wheels and comprising a pair of left and right trailing arms connected to a respective wheel, and a pair of laterally extending left and right rotary shafts connected to respective arms. The outer ends of the shafts are supported in bearings on the vehicle to permit individual rotation of the shafts and corresponding rocking of the arms and a tubular coupling interconnects the rotary shafts at the inner ends thereof also to permit individual rotation of the shafts. The suspension apparatus can be of semi-trailing type in which case the rotary shafts have bends therein and their inner ends rotate in the coupling about axes which are inclined with respect to the axes of rotation of the shafts in the bearings.
