摘要： A sheet conveying system in which when a sheet is passed from a sheet conveying apparatus to another, each including a sheet conveyance controller, the receiving apparatus can smoothly control acceleration, deceleration, or stop of conveyance of the sheet. A first sheet conveying device includes a first conveying roller pair to nip and convey a sheet, a releasing mechanism to release nipping of the sheet by the first conveying roller pair, and a first controller to control the first conveying roller pair and the releasing mechanism. A second sheet conveying device includes a second conveying roller pair to nip and convey the sheet conveyed by the first sheet conveying device, a second controller to control the second conveying roller pair, and a detecting device to detect position of a sheet. In response to the detection by the detecting device, the second controller causes the releasing mechanism to release the nipping of the sheet by the first conveying roller pair.

Then, after lateral shift operation is ended by the lateral shift part, detection is performed again by the detection part, and based on a detection result thereof, the control part controls an operation of the lateral shift part so that the conveyed sheet is shifted again in the lateral direction.

摘要： In a simultaneous double-sided document reading, this invention controls by software the document reading order to store image data in a single image storage device in the same order as a document page sequence. The copying apparatus has a reader unit, a printer unit, a controller unit and a document supply control unit. The controller unit has a reader memory, an encoder and a decoder. The reader memory temporarily stores at least two pages of uncompressed image data read from the document by the reader unit. The encoder compresses the image data stored in the reader memory. The compressed image memory stores a plurality of pages of image data compressed by the encoder. The decoder analyzes (expands) the compressed image data stored in the compressed image memory and maps it on the page memory.

摘要： After the start of an image formation operation, feeding of a sheet on which an image is to be formed is started, and an image formed on an image carrier is transferred onto the fed sheet. On the other hand, after the start of the image formation operation, in a case that the sheet has not been detected within a predetermined time period in a predetermined position on the upstream side of a transfer position, transfer is stopped, and after the stoppage of the transfer, re-feeding of the sheet is performed. By the re-feeding, in a case that the sheet has been detected in the predetermined position, formation of an image to be transferred onto the sheet is started, then the timing of start of the feeding of the sheet is delayed from the timing of start of the feeding in normal times.

The controlling circuit is connected to the piezoelectric element driving circuit and the receiving circuit, and operates the piezoelectric element driving circuit when the receiving circuit receives the search signal.

When ambient light is found to be incident, the method determines the size of an original placed on the platen on the basis of that output from the photoelectric converter, which falls outside the range in which the ambient light is incident, while the light source is kept on.
