摘要: There is provided a self-luminous display element driving device which prevents the luminance of a self-luminous display element from changing with the elapse of time and reduces the cost. In the device for constant-voltage driving the self-luminous display element by continuously making on and off states of application of a constant voltage to the self-luminous display element, the self-luminous display element driving device includes a circuit for generating deterioration information concerning a deterioration state of the self-luminous display element, and a circuit for adjusting a time width in which the constant voltage is applied to the self-luminous display element or a time width in which the constant voltage is not applied, on the basis of the deterioration information generated by the deterioration information generating circuit. The self-luminous display element may be, for example, an EL (electroluminescence) element or an organic EL element.

摘要: A portable GPS receiver receives a signal from a GPS satellite by a GPS receiving means to measure a position and a speed of the own receiver. A traveling pitch detector detects a traveling pitch of a human body. A timer determines an operating period to intermittently operate reception from the GPS satellite. A stride calculator calculates, on the operating period, a traveling stride from received positioning data between two points and a pitch detected by the traveling pitch detector during obtaining the positioning data. A speed/distance calculator calculates, on the operating period, a traveling speed and a traveling distance from the stride determined by the stride calculator and the pitch detected by the traveling pitch detector.

摘要: An improved GPS receiving apparatus may be worn on a user's arm and is not affected by the user's periodic arm swinging motion. A GPS signal receiver receives a GPS signal from GPS satellites, the receiver being mountable on a user's arm. A display is provided for displaying information based upon an output of the GPS signal receiver. An arm swing detecting circuit including an acceleration sensor detects the periodic swinging motion of the user's arm and outputs a corresponding periodic signal. A timing circuit sets a predetermined time during respective arm swing movements at which a GPS signal receiving operation will be performed based upon the periodic signal output by the arm swing detecting circuit. Operation timing of the GPS signal receiver is performed based on the output signal of the timing circuit so that a GPS signal receiving operation is performed at the same time during each cycle of periodic arm swinging motion to thereby cancel the effect of the periodic arm swinging motion.

摘要: A period and frequency measurement device is provided having a sensor for measuring pulse waves and body movements. A window determination circuit sets a reference value in accordance with previously measured pulse waves and body movements and determines whether currently measured pulse waves and body movements is within a window defined by upper and lower margins relative to the reference value. A window correction circuit corrects the window to be used for a next pulse waves and body movement measurement by applying a specified correction to the current pulse waves and body movements measurement if a determination result of the window determination circuit indicates that the current pulse waves and body movements measurement is outside a current window.

摘要: To avoid the parasitic bipolar effect occurring in MOS type devices, a monolithic boosting integrated circuit is formed using dielectrically isolated charge boosting elements. Each boosting element is formed of a rectifying element and a charge storing element connected in series. A semiconductor on insulator substrate is formed with a supporting substrate, an insulating layer and a semiconductor layer. The charge boosting elements are formed in the semiconductor layer and are electrically isolated using a dielectric film deposited over the semiconductor layer. By isolating the devices from the substrate, the parasitic bipolar effect is avoided and downsizing is possible thus permitting the formation of complex circuitry in a monolithic integrated circuit package.

摘要: A portable living body information collection device is arranged to continuously measure living body information in daily life and to efficiently collect relating mental information by timely questioning about health. The device can be worn on a human body. The portable living body information collection device extracts living body information in electrical signal form by a detection circuit and a signal processing circuit, and discretizes the information by a conversion circuit. A control circuit stores the discretized living body information in a storage and displays questions about feelings and mental conditions on a display unit periodically or when a large changes occurs in living body information. The wearer inputs answers by using an input device, and the answers are also recorded as mental information in the storage. Write or read of the living body information and mental information recorded in the storage, and various set values to or from an external personal computer can be performed by means of a communication circuit.
