    Abstract: A data transmission method includes receiving, by a centralized unit (CU), a first message from a distributed unit (DU). The first message includes a first transport block size (TBS) threshold. The first TBS threshold is useable for early transmission of uplink data. The method further includes sending, by the CU, the first TBS threshold to a UE, and receiving, by the CU, uplink data from the UE based on the first TBS threshold.

    Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a data transmission method and a communication apparatus. The method includes: A network device sends indication information to a terminal device, where the indication information is used to indicate a first transmission mode, and the first transmission mode includes: enabling a hybrid automatic repeat request function, disabling the hybrid automatic repeat request function, or at least one hybrid automatic repeat request mode. Therefore, after receiving the indication information sent by the network device, the terminal device determines the first transmission mode based on the indication information, and performs data transmission in the first transmission mode, to perform data transmission based on requirements of different services. In this way, flexibility of the data transmission is improved.

    Abstract: A system information sending method is provided, to resolve a technical problem that UE may not receive a paging message when a DRX cycle is greater than an MP. A network device may separately set a modification period (namely, a first period) for first-type system information (which, for example, may include paging configuration information), to ensure that the first-type system information is not to be modified in the first period. For example, the first period may be greater than a DRX cycle. In this way, when a terminal device wakes up based on the DRX cycle, a time when the terminal device wakes up is still in the first period. The terminal device may normally receive a paging message indicating that the paging configuration information is to be modified, thereby obtaining new paging configuration information in time and avoiding missing a subsequent paging message.
