Abstract:
A personalization enhancement method and system. The method includes retrieving and analyzing digital content associated with a user. Characteristics describing the digital content are tagged and transferred to a profile of said the user. The profile includes additional characteristics generated during previous analysis of data from the digital content and additional digital content associated with the user. User information associated with products, a location, and a time profile is assigned. The profile is analyzed based on selection and interaction of the user with respect to a consumer Website. The profile includes the characteristics and the additional characteristics with respect to products and services of the consumer Website. A presentation color setting and a group of products and services of are determined for presentation to the user. The group of products and services are presented to the user using the presentation color setting.
Abstract:
A method and system are provided. The method includes deriving a set of user attributes from an aggregate analysis of images and videos of a user. The deriving step includes recognizing, by a set of visual classifiers, semantic concepts in the images and videos of the user to generate visual classifier scores. The deriving step further includes deriving, by a statistical aggregator, the set of user attributes. The set of user attributes are derived by mapping the visual classifier scores to a taxonomy of semantic categories to be recognized in visual content. The deriving step also includes displaying, by an interactive user interface having a display, attribute profiles for the attributes and comparisons of the attribute profiles.
Abstract:
A compression system for compressing a video received from an imaging device, the compression system including a transformation estimation device configured to estimate, based on pixel transformations between a first frame and a second frame of the video, a transformation matrix, an encoding device configured to encode the second frame as an increment with the first frame based on the transformation matrix generated by the transformation device, a compression device configured to compress the increments into compressed data, and a reconstruction device configured to reconstruct the first frame and the second frame using the transformation matrix generated by the transformation estimation device
Abstract:
A method and a system of stitching a plurality of views of a scene, the method including extracting points of interest in each view to include a point set from each of the plurality of image views of the scene, matching the points of interest and reducing an outlier, grouping the matched points of interest in a plurality of groups, determining a similarity transformation with a smallest rotation angle for each grouping of the match points, generating virtual matching points on a non-overlapping area of the plurality of image views, generating virtual matching points on an overlapping area for each of the plurality of image views, and calculating piecewise projective transformations for the plurality of image views.
Abstract:
A method and systems are provided. The method includes recognizing semantic concepts in a set of images and assigning semantic scores for the images to predict a gender of a user. The method further includes performing gender prediction from visual content and textual content in the images to respectively generate visual-based gender predictions and textual-based gender predictions. The method also includes combining, using multimodal information fusion, the visual-based gender predictions, the textual-based gender predictions, and the semantic scores, to infer a gender of a user.
Abstract:
A method, system and computer program for categorizing heart diseases is presented. An example method includes receiving a series of cardiac images of a heart, the cardiac images including a myocardium, and interior fibrous muscles of the heart. Cardiac images are segmented, into a myocardium segmentation showing an anatomical shape and a motion of the myocardium, and an interior fibrous muscles segmentation showing an anatomical shape and a motion of the interior fibrous muscles. The myocardium segmentation is converted into a regional characterization of the anatomical shape and motion of the myocardium. The interior fibrous muscles segmentation is converted to a regional characterization of the anatomical shape and motion of the interior fibrous muscles. Heart conditions are characterized based on the regional characterizations of the anatomical shape and the motion of the myocardium and the interior fibrous muscles.
Abstract:
Systems and articles of manufacture for image segmentation are provided herein, and include creating an anatomical model from training data comprising one or more imaging modalities, generating one or more simulated images in a target modality based on the anatomical model and one or more principles of physics pertaining to image contrast generation, and comparing the one or more simulated images to an unlabeled input image of a given imaging modality to determine a simulated image of the one or more simulated images to represent the unlabeled input image.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer program products for static image segmentation are provided herein. A method includes segmenting a static image containing a target object into multiple regions based on one or more visual features of the static image; analyzing video content containing the target object to determine a similarity metric across the multiple segmented regions based on motion information associated with each of the multiple segmented regions; and applying the similarity metric to the static image to identify two or more of the multiple segmented regions as being portions of the target object.

Abstract:
A system and article of manufacture for social media event detection and content-based retrieval include obtaining multiple images from at least one social media source, extracting at least one visual semantic concept from the multiple images, differentiating an event semantic concept signal from a background semantic concept signal to detect an event in the multiple images, and retrieving one or more images associated with the event semantic concept signal for presentation as a visual description of the detected event.
