Abstract: A display device includes a substrate, first electrodes, second electrodes, and a driver. The first electrodes are disposed in a matrix (row-column configuration) in a display region of the substrate. The second electrodes are disposed in a peripheral region on the outside of the display region of the substrate. The driver supplies a drive signal to the first electrodes and the second electrodes. The first electrodes output detection signals corresponding to self-capacitance changes in the first electrodes. The second electrodes output detection signals corresponding to self-capacitance changes in the second electrodes.

Abstract: A display device includes a substrate, pixel electrodes, first electrodes, gate lines, signal lines, switching elements, a conductor, and a driver. The pixel electrodes are arrayed in a display region of the substrate. The first electrodes are separated from the pixel electrodes in a direction perpendicular to the substrate. The gate lines are disposed between the substrate and the first electrodes in the direction perpendicular to the substrate and extend in a plane parallel to the surface of the substrate. The signal lines intersect the gate lines in planar view. The switching elements are provided at the intersections of the gate lines and the signal lines. The conductor is provided opposite to the gate lines and the signal lines across the substrate in the direction perpendicular to the substrate.

Abstract: A display device includes a substrate, a plurality of detection electrodes, a drive circuit, a detector, and a first switching circuit. The detection electrodes are provided in a display area of the substrate. The drive circuit supplies a drive signal to the detection electrodes. The detector receives, from the detection electrodes, a detection signal corresponding to a capacitance change in the detection electrodes occurring when the drive signal is supplied. The first switching circuit is coupled to the detector via wiring and provided between the detection electrodes and the detector. The first switching circuit changes the number of detection electrodes electrically coupled to one of the wiring based on the detection signal.

Abstract: A display device with a touch detection function includes a control device that performs, in normal operation mode, image display control to exhibit an image display function of a display function layer based on an image signal and performs touch detection control; a touch detecting unit that detects, in the normal operation mode, a position of an object in proximity to or in contact with the touch detection electrode based on a detection signal transmitted from the touch detection electrode; and a touch-detection controller that detects, in sleep mode, the proximity of the object to or the contact thereof with the touch detection electrode. When the touch-detection controller detects the proximity of the object to or the contact thereof with the touch detection electrode in the sleep mode, the control device controls a pixel electrode to a predetermined potential, and thereafter supplies a touch drive signal to a drive electrode.

Abstract: A noise immunity of a detected capacitance is prevented or inhibited from lowering on a driving electrode different in width from the other driving electrodes, provided in an input device. A touch panel serving as an input device has a plurality of driving electrodes extending in an X-axis direction and arranged in a Y-axis direction intersecting with the X-axis direction, and a driving electrode arranged outside one side of an arrangement of the driving electrodes and extending in the X-axis direction.
