Abstract:
A device may receive a signal strength indicator associated with a connection between a mobile device and a first base station. The signal strength indicator may indicate a strength of a radio signal received by the mobile device from the first base station. The device may transmit the signal strength indicator to a network device, and may receive, from the network device, a first notification to activate a second base station based on the signal strength indicator. The device may activate the second base station based on the first notification. The second base station may provide temporary wireless connectivity for the mobile device.
Abstract:
A system may be configured to identify attributes of a bearer channel. Based on the attributes of the bearer channel, the system may identify a header compression policy associated with the bearer channel. The system may be configured to identify, based on attributes of traffic sent and/or received via the bearer channel, and further based on the header compression policy, that header compression should be performed on at least a portion of the traffic associated with the bearer channel. The system may be configured to perform header compression on the at least the portion of the traffic.
Abstract:
A device may receive a request from a mobile device to create a socket connection between the mobile device and the device. The request may be associated with linking information that links the socket connection with a previous socket connection with the mobile device. The request may be received from the mobile device after the mobile device disconnects from a first wireless local area network and reconnects to a second wireless local area network. The device may identify, based on the linking information, a socket connection between the device and a server device, the socket connection between the device and the server device having been created when the mobile device was connected to the first wireless local area network. The device may relay communications between the mobile device and the server device, using the socket connections.
Abstract:
A system comprising: one or more server devices to: set a first network threshold level for determining network congestion in a network; set rate limiting criteria for determining when one or more subscribers will be rate limited; detect an increase in network congestion at a base station above the first network threshold level; identify one or more subscribers meeting one or more of the rate limiting criteria; rate limit network traffic associated with the one or more subscribers; detect a decrease in network congestion at the base station below a second network threshold level; and remove the rate limiting of the network traffic associated with the one or more subscribers.
Abstract:
A network device transmits, to a cache located proximate to the network device, instructions to store content in the cache. The cache stores the content based on the instructions. The network device further receives a request for the content from a mobile communication device; determines, based on the request, that the content is stored in the local cache; and retrieves the content from the local cache. The network device also creates packets based on the retrieved content, and transmits the packets to the mobile communication device.
Abstract:
A device receives, from a mobile device, a request to connect to a network, and determines, based on the connection request, whether the mobile device has mobility capability. The device registers the mobile device per host-based mobility protocol standards when the mobile device does not have mobility capability. The device registers the mobile device per network-based mobility protocol standards when the mobile device has mobility capability.
Abstract:
A device receives or creates file packets to be broadcast, via multicast delivery, to multiple user equipment by a broadcast multicast service control (BMSC) device. The device stores the file packets in the memory, and receives, via unicast delivery, a file repair request from a particular user equipment of the multiple user equipment. The device identifies particular file packets in the memory based on the file repair request, and provides, via unicast delivery, the particular file packets to the particular user equipment.
Abstract:
A gateway device, provided in a customer premises, receives a call from a user device, and detects dialed information associated with the call. The gateway device identifies the call as an emergency call based on the dialed information, and terminates all other calls communicated by the gateway device except for the emergency call. The gateway device notifies an outdoor broadband unit, associated with the customer premises, about the emergency call.
Abstract:
A system may receive, from a user device, a request to receive content via a first base station, where the content was previously being received, as multicast content, via a second base station; determine, in response to the request, whether the first base station can process multicast content; transmit a copy of the content, to the user device via the first base station, as multicast content, based on a determination that the first base station can process multicast content; and transmit the content, to the user device via the first base station, as unicast content, based on a determination that the first base station cannot process multicast content.
Abstract:
A device receives a first request to establish a bearer with a first UE associated with a LTE device, where the first request includes first parameters associated with the first UE. The device also determines that the LTE device does not have the bearer established, and provides a new bearer request, with the first parameters, to a wireless network in order to establish the bearer with the LTE device at a first data rate. The device further receives a second request to establish another bearer with a second UE associated with the LTE device, where the second request includes second parameters associated with the second UE. The device determines that the LTE device has the bearer established, and provides a modify bearer request, with the second parameters, to the wireless network in order to modify the bearer with the LTE device to a second data rate.
