Abstract:
A method is provided for color tuning a plasmonic device with a color tunable electronic skin. A plasmonic electronic skin is used, including a first substrate, a plasmonic structure, an electrically conductive transparent first electrode layer, an electrically conductive transparent second electrode layer, and a polymer-networked liquid crystal (PNLC) layer interposed between the first and second transparent electrode layers. In response to receiving a color tuning voltage, a full visible spectrum incident light, and a PNLC switch voltage, the plasmonic structure generates a first primary color. A primary color exhibits a single wavelength peak with a spectral full width at half magnitudes (FWHMs) in the visible spectrum of light. In response to receiving the PNLC switch voltage between the first and second electrode layers, the PNLC layer passes incident light.

A method, an apparatus and a computer for data operation are provided. The method includes: determining, when writing data to a sector of a storage device, whether the sector belongs to an old block for a restore point of the storage device. If so, the method further includes: allocating a new block and writing the data into the new block; creating a table including an address of the old block, an address of the new block and a first identifier, wherein the first identifier has first identification elements corresponding to the sector in the old block and in the new block, respectively, and wherein each of the first identification elements has a first state indicating to read data from the old block during data restoration in the sector and a second state indicating to read data from the new block during data restoration in the sector; and pointing the address of the old block in an address index table for the restore point to the created table. Otherwise, the method further includes: allocating a new block and writing the data into the new block; and modifying the address of the old block in an address index table for the restore point into the address of the new block. With the present invention, the time required for operation on the sector for the restore point of the storage device can be saved, and the performance of the computer can be improved.
Abstract:
An electrical pressure sensor is provided with a method for measuring pressure applied to a sensor surface. The method provides an electrical pressure sensor including a sealed chamber with a top surface, first electrode, second electrode, an elastic polymer medium, and metallic nanoparticles distributed in the elastic polymer medium. When the top surface of the sensor is deformed in response to an applied pressure, the elastic polymer medium is compressed. In response to decreasing the metallic nanoparticle-to-metallic nanoparticle mean distance between metallic nanoparticles, the electrical resistance is decreased between the first and second electrodes through the elastic polymer medium.
Abstract:
A display device is provided for reflecting a black color, as enabled by an optical splitting photonic liquid crystal waveguide. Sets of top and bottom electrodes are formed in a periodic pattern. A first dielectric layer overlies the set of bottom electrodes, made from a liquid crystal (LC) material with molecules having dipoles responsive to an electric field. A plasmonic layer, including a plurality of discrete plasmonic particles, is interposed between the sets of top and bottom electrodes, and is in contact with the first dielectric layer. A voltage potential is applied between the top and bottom electrodes, generating an electric field. Dipole local orientation and non-orientation regions are created in the liquid crystal molecules in response to the electric field, and a wavelength of light outside the visible spectrum is reflected in response to optical spectrum splitting of the incident light.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a procoagulant conjugate having an endopeptidase-activatable procoagulant protein moiety and one or more bioprotective moieties, which are conjugated to one another by a linker that is cleaved by an endopeptidase in situ to release the bioprotective moiety. The invention is also directed to therapeutic uses of the procoagulant conjugate and methods of making the conjugate.

A portable document holder for use with an electronic device includes a supporting body, a first retractable mechanism, a holder body and a second retractable mechanism. The first retractable mechanism is connected to the supporting body and movable forwardly or backwardly in a first horizontal direction. The holder body has a bottom pivotally coupled to the supporting body such that the holder body is rotatable in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction and a shooting angle is defined between the holder body and a lens module of the electronic device. The second retractable mechanism includes an extension arm coupled to an upper edge of the holder body and two extension arms disposed at bilateral sides of the holder body. A holding space of the holder body is expanded in a vertical direction and/or a second horizontal direction when the extension arms are extended.

This invention relates to Factor VIII muteins that are covalently bound, at one or more predefined sites that are not an N-terminal amine, to one or more biocompatible polymers such as polyethylene glycol. The mutein conjugates retain FVIII procoagulant activity, are capable of correcting human factor VIII deficiencies and have improved pharmacokinetic properties.
