摘要: One aspect of the present invention relates to a label comprising both an adhesive portion and a non-adhesive portion. The adhesive portion of the label may be transparent so as not to occlude any pre-existing information on a manufacturer-supplied package once applied to the manufacturer's package. The non-adhesive portion of the label may contain bar-coded information, as well as human readable text, and may protrude from the product for the purposes of applying the bar-coded information to a previously non-bar-coded product. The label may be flexible, thus allowing the folding or rolling of the non-adhesive portion for the purposes of decreasing the storage space required for the manufacturer product that has had the new label attached and allowing the adhesive portion to conform to the product to which it is attached. Because of the rules governing abstracts, this abstract should not be used to construe the claims.

摘要: A power amplifier system and method for locating carrier frequencies across a frequency band, identifying the modulation format of each carrier, and locating and suppressing undesired intermodulation distortion (IMD) products generated by the power amplifier. The system includes an amplifier for amplifying RF carrier signals in a main signal path, a variable phase shifter and variable attenuator on a feed forward path, and a tunable receiver that digitizes a portion of the frequency band to baseband. The tunable receiver includes a tunable voltage controlled oscillator which provides an oscillating frequency to a mixer and is phase-locked to a highly stable reference oscillator. The mixer downconverts a desired RF based on the oscillating frequency to IF. A filter passes only a selected portion of the IF signals, and the filter has a passband sufficient to discern both narrowband and wideband carriers and their associated IMD products. Based on the locations of the carrier frequencies, a processing unit determines the IMD locations of the carrier frequencies, determines the IMD locations, and adjusts the variable phase shifter and variable attenuator on the feed forward path until the IMD products in the main signal path are suppressed below a desired threshold.

摘要: A thermal insulation sheet is maneuvered into position, especially in closely confined corners in an attic, by a tool having a prong which is inserted into the sheet, and a pusher surface which contacts the sheet to limit the depth of insertion of the prong, and which guides the sheet while an installer pushes the pusher surface against the sheet while maintaining the prong in the sheet.

摘要: A video distribution system transmits selected video programs to a number of independently controlled video monitors. The video monitors are arranged in groups, each group being coupled to a distinct transmission medium. A program selector associated with each video monitor generates video connection requests which specify a video source to be connected to that video monitor. A two stage video switch apparatus couples specified video sources to specified video monitors. The first stage routes specified video signals from the video sources to the second stage, which is a frequency multiplexer. The frequency multiplexer then transmits the specified video signals for each group of video monitors in distinct frequency bands on one of the transmission mediums. Each video monitor within each group of monitors has a tuner that is tuned to receive the video signal in a distinct one of the frequency bands. In effect, the transmission medium for each group of video monitors has a separate transmission channel for each of the monitors in the group. Finally, the system has a controller which receives the video connection requests, and controls the video switch apparatus so that it couples specified video sources to specified video monitors.

摘要: Inserting systems and methods are provided for use in sheet processing. The inserting systems and methods provide improved handling of sheet articles during processing. Sheet articles can be advantageously and efficiently advanced in separate stacks and later combined for insertion into an envelope. For insertion into an envelope, the mouth of the envelope can be selectively variably opened depending upon the amount of insertion material to go into the envelope where the amount an envelope is to be opened can be based upon processing or job information. Sheet articles can be registered and aligned to facilitate processing efficiencies. Sheet articles with creases, such as envelopes with mouth flaps, can be processed through a roller system to bend the crease so that the flap of the envelope assumes a desired position for subsequent processing. Additionally, sheet articles can be processed through a staging station with increased capacity for sheet processing.
