摘要: An optical connector, which is capable of enhancing fittability into a cabinet, or the like on account of compactification and also avoiding problems of an increase of bend loss, a breakage, etc. of an optical fiber, can be provided. In an optical connector 1 that houses a fusion-spliced portion 13, in which a short optical fiber 5 that is fitted previously to an optical connector ferrule 85 and a coated optical fiber 3 are fusion spliced together and holds the fusion-spliced portion 13 therein, one end of a protection sleeve 87 made of the thermal shrinkage material that externally fixes the fusion-spliced portion 13 is coupled to the optical connector ferrule 85. An air escape hole 7f for escaping an air, which is confined in the protection sleeve 87 when the protection sleeve 87 is thermally shrunk and adhered closely to the optical connector ferrule 85, to the outside is formed in the optical connector ferrule 85.

摘要: An optical connector in which the housing property into a cabinet or the like can be enhanced because of the compacification, and which can solve problems of the increase of the bending loss of an optical fiber, the breakage, and the like is obtained. In an optical connector which houses and holds a fusion spliced portion where a short optical fiber previously fitted to an optical connector ferrule is fusion-spliced with a coated optical fiber, one end of a protection sleeve which armors the fusion spliced portion is coupled to the optical connector ferrule. As a result, the length of the protection sleeve which covers the fusion spliced portion so that the fusion spliced portion is positioned at the middle can be set with reference to an end portion of the optical connector ferrule. Therefore, the protection sleeve can be shortened, and compactification of the optical connector can be realized.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes first and second developer carrying members and a control device. The apparatus is operable in a first mode where an image of a single color is formed using the first developer carrying member and is operable in a second mode, wherein an image of a plurality of colors is formed using the first and second developer carrying members. The control device controls a first discharging operation for discharging developer from the first developer carrying member and a second discharging operation for discharging developer from each of the first and second developer carrying members. When the apparatus executes only the first mode, the control device performs more image formations, in a period between completion of the second discharging operation and start of the first discharging operation, compared to a period between completion of the first discharging operation and start of a subsequent first discharging operation.

摘要: An image pickup apparatus which is capable of restraining power consumption to the maximum possible extent while improving the AF and zooming performance using distance information. A video signal from an optical image formed through the focus compensation lens is output by a camera signal processing circuit. A focus signal is detected from the video signal by an AF signal processing circuit. Two image signals are detected by an external ranging unit. Focus is adjusted based on results of detection by the AF signal processing circuit and the external ranging unit. A shooting state and an operative state of the image pickup apparatus are determined by an AF microprocessor. Power supply to the external ranging unit is controlled in response to the states determined by the AF microprocessor.

摘要: An optical connector ferrule 1A is mounted on the distal end of a fiber optic ribbon cable 2 to form an optical connector Ca. A mating surface 11 of the optical connector Ca opposes an optical connector Cb to be mated. Fiber accommodating holes 13 are formed in the mating surface 11 so as to accommodate optical fibers, and a pair of guide projections 10 are formed on the mating surface 11 so as to be positioned with the optical connector Cb. The ferrule 1A is integrally molded with a resin. This provides an optical connector ferrule allowing the easy manufacturing of an optical connector with good transmission performance.

摘要: The images of an object taken at a plurality of viewpoint positions are input together with information indicating the plurality of viewpoint positions, and the viewpoint position of an observer is detected. One of the input images is selected on the basis of the detected viewpoint position of the observer, and the scan line of the image is determined in accordance with the viewpoint position of the observer and the viewpoint position upon taking the selected image, thereby generating an image from the viewpoint position of the observer. In this manner, distortion of the image to be generated is suppressed. On the other hand, input multi-viewpoint images are converted into light rays that travel in a space, and each light ray is stored in a light space corresponding to a plane, which is one of a plurality of radially arranged reference planes and has an angle the plane makes with the light ray, which angle is closest to right angles. On the basis of the image, pixel positions, and pixel values calculated from the stored light rays, a desired image is generated, thereby broadening the observation range within which movement of the viewpoint position is allowed, and suppressing the required data volume.
