摘要： A video endpoint and related methods are disclosed. A video endpoint includes a control circuit configured to provide a user interface configured to enable a user to communicate with another user of another video endpoint with text during video communications with the other user. The user interface is also configured to enable the user to select from text strings stored in a database. A method of operating the video endpoint includes transmitting data corresponding to a selected one of the text strings stored in the database to the other video endpoint during the video communications responsive to the user selecting the selected one of the text strings. A method of transforming a computing device into a video endpoint includes storing computer-readable instructions directed to performing the functions of the control circuit on one or more servers, and transmitting the computer-readable instructions to the computing device.

摘要： A client-side multimedia content targeting system schedules the recording, storing, and deleting of multimedia content on a client system storage device. The system accepts as input a prioritized list of program viewing preferences which is compared with a database of program guide objects that indicate when programs of interest are actually broadcast. The viewer's client system locally retains the viewer's preferences and other personal information that the viewer has entered and is sent targeting information relating to program guide objects by a server. Using the viewer's preferences and personal information, the client system creates a viewer profile, which is used with the targeting information by the client system to record content that is within the viewer profile. The described client-based form of targeting can be applied to almost any multimedia situation, including, but not limited to: TV shows, movies, advertisements, product and service offerings, music, radio, audio, etc.

摘要： Provided is an image transmission apparatus in digital TV broadcasting, including: a first converter which converts added data, which are to be inserted into an image, into a pixel block; a border extender which adds an extended border area to an image area to extend the image in video data and inserts the converted added data into the extended border area; a video encoder which encodes the video data into which the border extender inserts the added data; a video decoder which decodes the video data encoded by the video encoder; and a second converter which converts the added data which are inserted as a pixel block in the video data decoded by the video decoder into original data. Accordingly, in digital TV broadcasting such as HD TV an UDTV, the added data are inserted into a hidden area, so that it is possible to transmit various types of information including contents and copyright without a deterioration in image quality.
