Abstract:
The invention describes a method of continuously controlling and tracking a position of a welding torch (10) and welding head relative to a weld seam to be produced on a workpiece (16), whereby the welding torch (10), spaced at a distance apart from a workpiece (16) and the weld seam, effects a pendulum motion which is superimposed on its linear welding motion, during which state variables, in particular an ohmic resistance or a current and/or a voltage, are detected as they change in time. The lateral deviation of the welding torch (10) from the weld seam, in particular from the welding line centre, and/or the height of the welding torch (10) above the workpiece (16) and the welding head are derived from the detected actual values and signals in order to control and track the position of the welding torch (10). Depending on periodically occurring process phases of a welding process, the measurement value detection routine for at least one measurement signal, in particular to detect the state variable, is run at fixed instants and/or states of the periodically recurring process phases of the welding process.
Abstract:
A novel compound comprising an immunologically invisible polyethylene glycol copolymer is used to carry one or more immunologically reactive substances. The novel compounds may be used as part of kits for immunological assays.
Abstract:
A method is provided for selling a perishable-receiving premium container, the method including providing the container adjacent to a display of a perishable, wherein the container is adapted to be used by a consumer to place the perishable into the container; charging the consumer for the perishable; and charging the consumer for the container based on indicia on the container. In addition, a method is provided for offering a consumer a choice between disposable perishable-receiving containers, the method including providing a premium container adjacent to a perishable; providing a standard container adjacent to the perishable; allowing the consumer to choose between the standard and premium containers; and charging the consumer for the container chosen based on indicia on the container, wherein the charge for the premium container is greater than the charge for the standard container.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a package that includes an enclosure having a first substance and a second substance within the enclosure. The package further includes a plastic zipper which segregates the first substance from the second substance within the enclosure such that opening the plastic zipper allows the first substance and the second substance to be mixed together inside the enclosure. In another aspect, the package includes a gas-permeable enclosure and first and second solid substances stored within the enclosure. A mechanism, such as a plastic zipper, segregates the first and second solid substances. Opening the mechanism allows a user to mix the first and second solid substances inside the enclosure to produce a gas. The package permits the gas that is produced to permeate through the gas-permeable enclosure for distribution throughout an area.
Abstract:
A disposable absorbent article is disclosed having a waist opening and a pair of leg openings. The absorbent article has first, second and third pairs of leg elastics secured between an outer cover and an inner liner. The first, second and third leg elastics are arranged around each of the pair of leg openings with each of the third pair of leg elastics being positioned intermediate one of each of the first and second pairs of leg elastics. Each of the third pair of leg elastics is also separated from one of the first pair of leg elastics by a first gap and from one of the second pair of leg elastics by a second gap.
Abstract:
A method and a device for operating a vehicle provide a convenient and flexible function for limiting a performance quantity, in particular the speed or the engine speed of the vehicle. At least one limiting value is predefined for the performance quantity. The at least one limiting value is predefined at an input unit as a function of at least one criterion. A check is made to determine whether the at least one criterion is satisfied. The at least one limiting value is activated if the at least one criterion is satisfied.
