摘要： A storage device includes a storage unit, a timer unit and a bias current applying unit. The storage unit stores, in advance, a value of a waiting time until application of a bias current to the driving unit to eliminate an external force applied to an actuator after completion of positioning, and a value of a bias current to be applied to the driving unit after the elapse of the waiting time, in association with a track position. The timer unit reads the waiting time from the storage unit and counting an elapse of the waiting time. The bias current applying unit reads the bias current value from the storage unit and applying the bias current to the driving unit after the elapse of the waiting time.

A head movement control section which controls movement of the head to a target position on a storage medium and a head unload control section unloads the head to an unload position based on (1) the time at which a drop or initial impact is first detected based on a signal output from the acceleration sensor and (2) threshold information, which includes a first threshold representing a standard strength of the signal output from the acceleration sensor at the time of drop and a second threshold representing a standard strength of the signal output from the acceleration sensor at the time of initially receiving impact.

摘要： After an air-core coil has been set inside a molding die, the molding die is filled with a magnetic powder which is coated with at least two types of resin layers. A pure iron powder having an average particle size of about 20 &mgr;m or less is desirable for the magnetic powder. A thermosetting resin is used for the inner resin layer and a thermoplastic resin is used for the outer resin layer of the resin layers of two kinds with which the surface of the magnetic powder is coated. Then, a substantially rectangular molded body in which the air-core coil is embedded is formed by molding the magnetic powder under a molding pressure of about 1 to about 10 tons/cm2. Next, a magnetic body is formed by heat-treatment of the molded body.
