    Abstract: In one aspect, a method performed by a base station in a Non-Public Network includes: operating a closed access group (CAG) cell; establishing a communication connection with a user equipment (UE) in the CAG cell, wherein the CAG cell is associated with a CAG having an associated CAG identifier; suspending the communication connection; receiving, from a further base station, a first message indicating that the UE has requested resumption of the communication connection in a CAG cell operated by the further base station, the first message including a CAG identifier of a CAG which the CAG cell operated by the further base station is associated with; performing CAG membership verification for the CAG identified by the CAG identifier in the first message; and sending, to the further base station, a second message indicating a result of the CAG membership verification.

    Abstract: A cellular communication system is disclosed in which a base station operates a cell which has a supplementary uplink portion (e.g. on a different frequency and/or using a different technology). The base station broadcasts an offset for user equipment (UE) in its coverage area to assist the UE performing cell selection. Specifically, the UE determines, based on measurements for the cell, the offset, and capability of the UE to communicate using the supplementary uplink portion, whether the cell of the base station is an appropriate candidate for cell selection such that: if the UE is capable of communicating using the supplementary uplink portion then the UE performs cell (re)selection based on the offset; and if the UE is not capable of communicating using the supplementary uplink portion then the UE disregards the offset in its cell (re)selection.

    Abstract: A system is provided in which a user device communicates control data with a first base station and communicates user data with a second base station. The user device receives, from the first base station, configuration data specific to the first base station and configuration data specific to the second base station for configuring the user device to handle in-device coexistence interference. When the user device detects interference, it identifies the base station to which the interference relates, and controls the operating of its transceiver circuitry: i) using the first base station specific configuration data if it identifies that the interference is related to the first base station; and ii) using the second base station specific configuration data if it identifies that the interference is related to the second base station.

    Abstract: A communication system is disclosed, in which a mobile telephone has a control-plane connection to a first base station and communicates user data using at least one communication bearer provided via a second base station. The base stations are configured to exchange information relating to the data rate required for the mobile telephone via the second base station.
