    Abstract: A receiver for a modulated signal of a communication system is disclosed. The receiver includes a demodulator to demodulate the received modulated symbols of a received signal into received soft-bits. The receiver also includes a hard-decision decoder that is configured to decode the received soft-bits into decoded bits. A feedback loop is included to provide feedback from the hard decision decoder to the demodulator. The feedback loop is configured to re-encode the decoded bits from the hard-decision decoder into re-encoded bits. The demodulator is further configured to iteratively demodulate the received modulated signal using an output of the feedback loop.

    Abstract: A radar processor for processing a frame of radar data received from one or more targets, the frame of radar data having a carrier frequency and comprising a sequence of codewords with a codeword repetition interval, wherein the carrier frequency and the codeword repetition interval define an unambiguous velocity range, the radar processor configured to: receive the frame of radar data; transform the frame to obtain a velocity data array; apply a correction algorithm to the velocity data array to correct a Doppler shift of the frame to obtain a corrected array, wherein the correction algorithm comprises a set of Doppler correction frequencies corresponding to a set of velocity gates and at least one of the set of Doppler correction frequencies corresponds to a velocity gate outside the unambiguous velocity range; and perform range processing on the corrected array to obtain a range-Doppler map.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to use with communications that may involve repetitive communications. As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments, a subset of symbols in a current data message (130/131) are used with a corresponding subset of symbols in a previous data message (120/121), to ascertain whether the current data message is a repetition of the previous data message. This may involve, for instance, generating a resemblance metric to represent semblance between a subset the data symbols of the current data message and a subset the data symbols of the previous data message (102). The resemblance metric can be used in determining whether the current data message is a repetition of the previous data message. This approach may be useful, for example, in ascertaining whether the current message is a repetition without necessarily decoding the message.

As may be implemented in a manner consistent with one or more aspects characterized herein, an apparatus and/or method involve transmitting enhanced signals for in-band transmissions over a first one of a plurality of wireless communications channels shared by a plurality of stations for communicating wireless station-to-station communications. While transmitting the enhanced signals, communications by legacy devices on a second one of the wireless communications channels adjacent the first channel are suppressed by generating and transmitting a side channel interference signal on the second channel, therein causing legacy devices receiving the enhanced signals to withhold communications on the second channel.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to radar signaling utilizing a non-uniform multi input/multi output (MIMO) antenna array including first and second uniform MIMO antenna arrays respectively having both sparsely-arranged transmitting antennas and sparsely-arranged receiving antennas. Communication circuitry is configured to determine a direction of arrival of reflections of radar signals transmitted by the transmitting antennas and received by the receiving antennas, by comparing the reflections received by the first MIMO array with the reflections received by the second MIMO array during a common time period (e.g., at the same time). Using this approach, the antenna arrays may be utilized to provide co-prime spacing/elements and to suppress ambiguities in received reflections based on alignment thereof.

A method for communicating by vehicular communications circuitry of a device includes, in a wireless communications network in which a message is broadcasted by vehicular communications circuitry of a device for asynchronous receptions by other circuitry in one or more devices configured to wirelessly communicate according to a communications protocol, monitoring a channel busy ratio associated with channels in a designated range of frequency pertaining to the wireless communications network. The method further includes assessing whether to retransmit the message as a function of the channel busy ratio, and in response to the channel busy ratio being outside a threshold, retransmitting the message according to the communications protocol.

    Abstract: Interference cancellation is provided, according to certain aspects, by a filter, a signal detection circuit, synthesis circuitry and signal-generation circuitry. The filter is used to filter an incoming signal having an associated signal-to-noise metric and to output therefrom a filtered signal having an interference attribute of the incoming signal by amplification and/or isolation. The signal detection circuit is used to detect the interference attribute in the filtered signal. The synthesis circuitry is used to synthesize interference in the incoming signal based on the interference attribute. The signal-generation circuitry is used to generate, in response to the synthesized interference in the incoming signal, a filtered version of the incoming signal which provides an improved signal-to-noise metric.
