摘要： A thermal transfer printing method includes the steps of overlapping a surface of a printing layer of an intermediate transfer member having the printing layer on a base member with an ink sheet. Thermal transfer printing from the ink sheet to the printing layer is effected, subsequently overlapping the intermediate transfer member with an image receiver for transfer of the printing layer onto the image receiver. Thereafter, the printing layer is fixed on the image receiver by causing the printing layer to penetrate into the image receiver through direct application of pressure and heat to the printing layer on the image receiver. A printing apparatus is employed for effecting the thermal transfer printing method.

摘要： An electromagnetic induced heating roller comprises a core member, an elastic layer, induction heating layer, and a mold release layer in this order from inside to outside. Further, a magnetic shield layer for preventing a magnetic flux from penetrating into the core member is interposed between the induction heating layer and the core member. The production of an alternating magnetic field from a magnetic field generating device, a leakage flux having penetrated through the induction heating layer is trapped by the magnetic shield layer. As a result, most of the impressed alternating magnetic flux is consumed for heating the heating layer, resulting in an improvement in the heating efficiency. A trouble is prevented which is generated by heating the bearing of the core member.

摘要： An image forming apparatus uses a plurality of image forming units that are arranged rotatable in a vertical plane such that the image forming units are shifted sequentially to an image forming position. Each image forming unit has a translucent toner detection window on its outer periphery for detecting the remaining amount of toner in a toner hopper. The image forming units will have a replacing position in which it will face an opening for allowing replacement of the image forming unit. The translucent detection window will face the opening when the image forming unit is in the replacing position.

The developing device comprises: a hopper for accommodating and supplying a developer; a recovering roller which serves as a developer carrier member for transporting the developer carried on a surface thereof to a developing place; and a developer circulating path for circulating the developer between the hopper and the recovering roller. The developer circulating path includes a part of the hopper and a forward path and a backward path both of which extend from the hopper along the photosensitive body, the forward path and the backward path respectively have spaces independent of each other, and in each of the spaces a screw is provided for holding the developer therein and transporting the developer.

摘要： A printing apparatus transfers an ink layer corresponding to an image formed on a conductive light reflective layer by electrosensitive recording onto a recording paper. The apparatus is provided with a high voltage applying electrode or a corona charger for applying static electricity to one of the ink layer and the recording paper. Due to the electrostatic force caused by the static electricity, an ink sheet having the ink layer and the recording paper are maintained in tight contact with each other. Thus accurate transfer of images from the ink sheet to the recording paper is realized.

摘要： A printing apparatus having a simple construction is constituted by a print element with a plurality of resilient spokes which have type elements disposed vertically thereon and in two rows around the element and extend upwardly from a disc base in a cylinder, and a gear on the disc base integral therewith and coaxial with the disc base and cylinder. The print element is easy to mount and remove. A hammer for pressing each type element on the print element against a printing member and a shaft mechanism for carrying out a shifting operation of the print element are provided. A rotary means includes a motor for rotatably driving the print element and a drive gear connected to the motor. A holder is provided for holding the print element, hammer, and shift mechanism. The print element is preferable mountable and removable with respect to the holder and when mounted, engages the drive gear and is rotatable and vertically movable.

摘要： A fixing device for reducing, without fail, the heating output without using a control circuit if an excessive temperature rise of a rotary heating member is predicted, even if the control circuit fails or runs away. In the fixing device, heating of a fixing belt for heat-fixing an unfixed image on a recording medium is controlled by a body-side processor. When the fixing belt stops or rotates at a rotational speed equal to or below a threshold, an oscillation stop circuit stops the oscillation of an inverter circuit to stop the heating, independently of the processor. To check the operation of a rotation detection circuit for detecting the rotating state of the fixing belt (fixing roller) and the oscillation stop circuit, self-diagnosis is utilized to ascertain that the fixing belt is not heated by giving a heating instruction when the condition of not heating the fixing belt is satisfied is performed when the power is turned on or is performed regularly during standby.

摘要： A heat generating roller, fixing equipment and an image forming apparatus in which warm-up time is shortened while preventing excessive temperature rise and good fixing performance is realized by preventing offset. The heat generating roller is formed principally by laying a high permeability conductive layer and a nonmagnetic conductive layer in layer. When a voltage is applied from a power supply to an exciting coil and an alternating current flow, magnetic flux is generated around the exciting coil and a magnetic field is formed. Magnetic coupling of a system including the heat generating roller and the exciting coil is advantageous at a low temperature and heat generation of the heat generating roller is accelerated. When the Curie point is exceeded, skin depth increases and skin resistance decreases, which suppresses generation of Joules heat and reduces heat generation of the heat generating roller.
