摘要: The invention relates to a structure for a semiconductor arrangement. A resist structure for supporting deposition of a solution containing a semiconductor is directly or through intervening layers coupled to a substrate. The resist structure comprises a depression (301) for depositing of the solution containing the semiconductor (309) and a trough (305) aligning at least part of an edge of the depression (309) and separated from the depression (309) by a protrusion (307). The trough (305) preferably surrounds the depression (309). The trough provides a pinning effect on the solution containing the semiconductor thereby improving the wettability and accordingly allowing for increased volume of semiconductor to be applied to a given area.

摘要: The surface detection system includes a source of an optical interrogating signal (44) which accompanies a droplet spray in an oral cleaning device directed to an oral surface (46). The interrogating optical signal is reflected from the oral surface which the spray impacts and detected (48). A selected characteristic of the reflected signal, such as intensity, is indicative of the nature of the oral surface, such as either gum tissue or a tooth surface. The detected reflected signal is then processed to determine the nature of the oral reflecting surface. The processor (50) then provides a resulting output signal which can be used to either warn the user concerning the nature of the oral surface or to change the characteristics of the spray appropriately according to the surface (51).

摘要: The light modulator for modulating light has a light modulating element, having a medium with a particle (6) and an optical state depending on the position of the particle (6), and a particle controller (10,11,100) being arranged to enable a movement of the particle (6) to one of the positions for modulating the light. For the light modulator to have a particle (6) which can relatively easily be moved, the particle (6) has a carrier particle (81) which contributes in operation to the ability of the particle (6) to be moved and is substantially non-contributing to the optical state, and an optical particle (86) which has an optical property for contributing to the optical state, is associated with the carrier particle (81), and has a position depending on the position of the carrier particle (81).

摘要: An organic electroluminescent device (41) has a plurality of independently addressable electroluminescent elements (51A, B, C, D, E, F) and comprises a patterned first electrode layer comprising a plurality of first electrodes (43A, B, C) and a second electrode layer (26A, B, C, D); an organic, optionally patterned, electroluminescent layer (25) disposed between said first and said second electrode layer; an organic charge transport layer having charge transport areas (24A, B, C, D, E, F) disposed between the first electrode layer and the organic electroluminescent layer (25); and a relief pattern (27) extending between and along neighboring first electrodes. The relief pattern separates said charge transport areas along neighboring first electrodes which has the effect of disconnecting any current path between neighboring first electrodes via the charge transport layer. Thus, the EL device has a small leakage current and can be easily manufactured.
