    摘要: A solid or screen bowl decanting-type centrifuge comprising:a rotatable bowl; a helical scroll conveyor which rotates coaxially within the bowl at a different rotational speed, the helical scroll comprising a hub carrying a plurality of flights whose radially outer edges lie close to an inner wall of the bowl such that, in use, solids are scrolled by the conveyer to solids discharge ports at one end of the bowl, with separated liquid being discharged from liquids discharge ports at the opposite end of the bowl. The conveyor hub carries a plurality of nozzles in a wash zone for supplying wash fluid to solids being scrolled by the conveyer towards the solids discharge ports. The conveyor hub also carries a blade in the region of the nozzles and intermediate adjacent flights of the conveyor for directing fluid droplets from the nozzles over said solids.

    摘要: The invention generally relates to systems and methods for percutaneous closure of intra-cardiac openings, such as a patent foramen ovale (PFO). In one embodiment, a closure system includes an elongated member coated with a bonding material. The bonding material adheres to the intra-cardiac opening when energy is applied to the elongated member. The system may also include an energy riser, such as a protuberance on the surface of the elongated member or a modification to the surface of the elongated member. In another embodiment, the closure device includes a catheter containing the elongated member or a locator, such as a balloon or hook. The elongated member may be inserted into an intra-cardiac opening, such as a patent foramen ovale.

    摘要: A thermally treated steel is provided comprising a steel having a microhardness of between approximately 60 and 67 HRC at a surface depth between approximately 0.002 to 0.014 inches from the steel surface and having approximately 0-36% by volume martensite converted from retained austenite at the surface depth. The steel may be used for ANSI 60 pins used in roller chain that may maintain elongation of less than 0.040 inches for up to 264 hours of wear testing. A method of making the steel pins is provided that comprises the steps of carburizing the steel in an atmosphere of 1.00% carbon or greater at a temperature between 1550° and 1750° F., quenching the steel to room temperature, tempering the steel to a temperature of 375° F. or less, cryogenically treating the steel to a temperature of −300° F. or lower and tempering the steel to a temperature of 375° F. or less.
