    摘要: Devices and methods for soft tissue reconstruction are provided. One exemplary embodiment of a device includes a body a suture filament extending through through-holes formed in the body. The suture is formed into an overhand knot having three collapsible openings with filament limbs extending from the knot. The limbs can be passed through the thru-holes of the body and selectively into the collapsible openings of the overhand knot to form coils extending to an opposite side of the body. For example, one limb can be passed through first and second collapsible openings to form two coils, while the other limb can be passed through the first and third collapsible openings to form two coils. The collapsible openings are collapsed around the limbs disposed in the openings, resulting in a secured overhand knot. Other configurations of knots, as well as devices and methods for use in tissue reconstruction, are also provided.

    摘要: A connector for attaching a connective tissue to bone includes a sling for supporting and holding the connective tissue. A trap generally cooperates with the sling. The trap includes an anchor end and a sling end and a generally tubular section configured to decrease in diameter upon application of a longitudinal tensile force. The trap is dimensioned to fit within a tunnel through bone so that the connective tissue emerges from one end of the tunnel and so that an interference screw can be inserted into the tubular section at the anchor end of the trap at the other end of the tunnel whereby a pulling force exerted on the sling causes the generally tubular section of the trap to constrict more tightly about the interference screw to prevent slippage and to deter withdrawal of the trap from the tunnel.

    摘要: A surgical procedure for inducing continuous compressive force across two components includes inserting a braided superelastic wire through a first end of a channel that from a first component to a second component. The braided superelastic wire includes an unstretched length in a contracted state. The procedure also includes anchoring the braided superelastic wire at a second end of the channel opposite the first end and applying a predetermined amount of axial tension to the braided superelastic wire adjacent the second end of the channel. The axial tension stretches the braided superelastic wire to a stretched state having a stretched length that is longer than the unstretched length. The procedure also includes securing at least one free end of the braided superelastic wire adjacent the second end of the channel to maintain the predetermined amount of axial tension along the braided superelastic wire across the first component and the second component. The braided superelastic wire is configured to be biased toward the contracted state when in the stretched state such that a compressive spring force is applied by the wire while in the stretched state.
