摘要: An indicating device suitable for indicating the number of dosages of a substance that have been dispensed from or remain in a container includes at least one first indicator member incrementally moveable to a plurality of positions and a second indicator member moveable in response to a predetermined number of movements of the at least one first indicator member. The at least one first indicator member includes primary dosage indicia adapted to indicate the number of dosages of substance that have been dispensed from or remain in the container. The second indicator member includes secondary dosage indicia adapted to indicate that less than a minimum predetermined number of dosages of substance remain in the container. In one preferred embodiment, the primary dosage indicia are configured as numerical indicia and the secondary dosage indicia are configured as color indicia. In another aspect, a device for dispensing dosages of a substance includes a dispenser housing and a container disposed in the dispenser housing. The indicating device is located adjacent to and is actuated by one or the other of the top or bottom of the container. A method for indicating the number of metered dosages of medicaments dispensed from or remaining in the container is also provided.

摘要: Diagnostic methods and systems for electronic devices are disclosed. Separate dedicated diagnostic software code and operating code are respectively executed in a diagnostic mode and an operating mode of an electronic device. A determination may be made as to whether the electronic device is to be operated in the diagnostic mode or the operating mode when the electronic device is started, for example. A transition to the diagnostic mode from the operating mode may also be made in response to errors detected by online diagnostic tests performed in the operating mode. Results of diagnostic tests are preferably stored in a non-volatile memory for subsequent access, independent of the operating software code.

摘要: The present invention is a method and system for translating method calls to version-specified method calls. An interface to an underlying object is provided. Applications communicating with the underlying object use the interface. The interface is separate from the underlying object. Version-specific underlying objects are generated. Each one of the version-specific underlying objects is a different version of the underlying object. A plurality of translation objects, one for each version-specific underlying object, are generated for communicating between the interface and each one of the version-specific underlying objects. A translation object is used for translating an interface method call invoked on the interface to a version-specific method call for the underlying object for each version of the underlying object. All translation objects are generated from a single proxy class and a single invocation handler class. The same proxy class and the same invocation handler class are used to generate the translation object for each different version of the underlying object.

摘要: The invention provides an aerosol medication delivery apparatus for use with a pMDI canister having medication and a propellant contained therein under pressure, wherein the pMDI canister has a discharge orifice from which the medication and propellant can be discharged forming an aerosol. The apparatus has a chamber housing having an input end and an output end and defining an interior space, wherein the input end receives the medication discharged from the discharge orifice of the pMDI canister into the interior space and wherein the medication can be withdrawn from the interior space by inhalation by a patient from the output end. The aerosol medication delivery apparatus also includes a valve at the output end. The valve has a valve seat and a valve member. The valve seat has a sealing surface and the valve member has a central open area and a sealing portion at the perimeter of the open area that mates with the sealing surface when the valve is closed. The valve allows medication to be withdrawn through the central open area but prevents backflow into the chamber housing.
