Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for uplink preemption indication. A method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving at least one ULPI from a base station (BS) indicating, for each of a plurality of sets of uplink resources, a power level the UE can use for one or more uplink transmissions. The UE can determine one or more power levels indicated by the ULPI for resources allocated for the UE for uplink transmission. The allocated resources may include multiple of the sets of uplink resources. The UE can select the power level to use for uplink transmission using the allocated resources based, at least in part, on the determination. The UE sends or drops the one or more uplink transmissions according to the ULPI. A time duration of the plurality of sets of uplink resources can be longer than a configured ULPI monitoring periodicity.

Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to reporting power headroom of an apparatus such as a user equipment (UE). For an apparatus that uses beamforming, the power headroom associated with the beam the apparatus is using for wireless communication (e.g., with a base station) may be lower than the power headroom associated with another beam that the apparatus could use for the wireless communication. The disclosure relates in some aspects to using one beam for wireless communication and using the power headroom for another beam for a power headroom report. In this way, the apparatus may always report its full transmit power capability.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a plurality of discovery reference signal (DRS) search modes implemented by the user equipment (UE) during contention-based communication in an unlicensed spectrum. The plurality of DRS search modes may include a first DRS search mode (“Full search mode”), second DRS search mode (“Comb search mode”), and a third DRS search mode (“Thin search mode”). The DRS search modes may be selected by the UE based on the system requirements (e.g., tradeoffs between robustness and complexity against cycle cost). Features of the present disclosure further provide techniques for dynamically switching between the plurality of DRS search modes in order to minimize power consumption while reducing the number of cycles required to locate the DRS.

A method that can be performed by a base station (BS) generally includes receiving an indication from one or more UEs indicating, for each of a plurality of band combinations, a capability of the UE to transmit on a band when transmission on another band in the band combination is preempted and scheduling the one or more UEs for uplink transmission based on the indication.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a UE receives a first uplink grant for a first RAT (e.g., 5G NR) and a second uplink grant for a second RAT (e.g., LTE). In another embodiment, the UE establishes a first period of time where a BSR transmitted by the UE on the first RAT is adjusted based on scheduling of concurrent uplink multi-RAT transmissions, and a second period of time where no BSR is transmitted by the UE on the first RAT based where concurrent uplink transmissions on both the first and second RATs are not permitted to be scheduled.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for user equipment (UE)-side and network-side mitigation of intermodulation (IM) interference, such as IM interference associated with multi-radio access technology communications. For example, the UE or a base station may detect an IM interference condition, and may perform an IM mitigation action based on detecting the IM interference condition. The UE may reduce an uplink transmit power so that IM interference on the downlink is reduced. Various base station IM mitigation actions are provided, such as suspending scheduling on a bearer, using a scheduling pattern that avoids concurrent transmission, reducing a maximum transmit power of an uplink grant of the UE, allocating resource blocks or bandwidth parts that do not overlap with an IM interference resource, changing a secondary cell group channel to a non-interfering channel, releasing a secondary cell group channel, deactivating a carrier, or changing a channel of the UE.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive configuration information from a base station, and the configuration information may indicate at least two different random access channel (RACH) request configuration parameters that each is associated with a respective radio resource control (RRC) state. The UE may be further configured to generate a first message associated with a two-step RACH procedure including a preamble and a payload, the payload including data on an uplink data channel and at least one reference signal. The UE may be further configured to transmit the first message to the base station using at least one of the at least two different RACH request configuration parameters that corresponds to an RRC state of the UE. The preamble may be transmitted on a first set of resources associated with a RACH occasion, and the payload may be transmitted on a second set of resources.
