Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may monitor a channel for wireless communication associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) during one or more of a first active duration or a first inactive duration. The UE may operate in a first power mode during the first inactive duration. The UE may monitor the channel for wireless communication associated with a second RAT during one or more of a second active duration or a second inactive duration. The UE may operate during the second inactive duration in one or more of the first power mode or a second power. Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for a mobile satellite communications application that is aware of radio frequency (RF) exposure. An example method of wireless communication by a wireless device includes determining an RF exposure budget for one or more future transmissions in compliance with an RF exposure limit. The method further includes obtaining a size of a payload for a potential transmission. The method further includes determining transmission information based at least in part on the RF exposure budget and the size of the payload. The method further includes outputting the transmission information for a user of the wireless device.

Abstract: In some implementations, a mobile device may perform a plurality of signal strength measurements of a radio frequency (RF) signal transmitted by a satellite, wherein performing the plurality of signal strength measurements occurs over a period of time during which the mobile device is subject to a movement. The mobile device may determine, for each signal strength measurement of the plurality of signal strength measurements, a respective orientation of the mobile device corresponding to when the respective signal strength measurement was performed. The mobile device may determine a target orientation for the satellite-based communications based at least in part on a value of a particular signal strength measurement of the plurality of signal strength measurements and the respective orientation of the mobile device corresponding to the particular signal strength measurement. The mobile device may provide guidance for rotating the mobile device to the target orientation.
