The apparatus generally includes at least one processor configured to associate with a wireless IP network, transmit to a base station, from the mobile device, a first routable address, establish a tunnel between the mobile device and the base station over a first data connection using the first routable address, and receive, packets from the base station over the wireless network using the tunnel; and a memory coupled to the processor.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus determines an observed bit rate based on uplink transmissions of the UE, estimates an available link capacity for the UE, selects an estimate factor, and estimates available uplink throughput for future uplink transmissions of the UE as a function of the observed bit rate, the estimated available link capacity, and the estimate factor.

Various embodiments include systems and methods of determining whether a compromised access point is present in a communication network. A processor of a wireless communication device may predict one or more websites that the wireless communication device will access during a future session with the one or more websites. The processor may establish a secure connection with the communication network, request a digital certificate for one or more of the predicted websites, and store a digital certificate received from each of the predicted websites. The processor may determine whether a compromised access point is present in the communication network by comparing one of the digital certificates from the predicted websites with a digital certificate received from a website server during a current session.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications and, more particularly, to predicting a system loss event and/or proactive system recovery. Aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques and apparatus for system loss event (e.g., radio link failure event) geo-coding and proactive system recovery. According to certain aspects, a user equipment (UE) may generate and store information about one or more system loss events associated with the UE. The UE may then predict one or more other system loss events associated with the UE based on this information and take action, based on the prediction to continue communication of the UE.
