Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, on a first carrier having a first subcarrier spacing (SCS), a scheduling indication via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) scheduling a downlink transmission on a second carrier having a second SCS. The UE may process the downlink transmission on the second carrier based at least in part on a delay between the PDCCH and the scheduled downlink transmission and a timing threshold having a basic term and an adjustment term. For example, the basic term may be based at least in part on a minimum delay between the PDCCH and the scheduled downlink transmission, and the adjustment term may be based at least in part on a processing time due to a difference between the first SCS and the second SCS. Abstract: A UE may be configured for half-duplex communications. An access point may configure half-duplex UEs for efficient resource utilization using two of more different half-duplex configurations that include different timing for channels in different directions. A UE may determine a half-duplex configuration for use in communicating with the access point, each slot of the half-duplex configuration including at least a PDCCH on a downlink frequency and an uplink short burst on an uplink frequency, and each slot associated with a HARQ timeline. The UE may determine a direction for a slot. The UE may transmit or receive according to the direction for the slot and the half-duplex configuration.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide various flexible search space designs that can handle UEs with various capabilities and limitations. In some aspects of the disclosure, the downlink bandwidth may be divided into several self-contained sub-bands. Each sub-band may include one or more OFDM subcarriers or tones, and each UE may be configured to monitor one or more of the sub-bands for its downlink control channel. The sub-band is self-contained in such a way that each sub-band includes CCEs that are mapped to resource elements contained in the same sub-band. In some aspects of the disclosure, different sub-bands can be configured with the different transmission modes and pilot densities. The transmission mode, pilot density, and layer-ID may be determined as a function of each UE's search space.

Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein permit a user equipment (UE) to transition among different power settings for different parameters that impact the amount of power consumed by the UE. Such transitions may be configured to occur during a discontinuous reception (DRX) active time to provide power savings during the DRX active time or increase throughput during the DRX active time. In some aspects, the transitions may be signaled by a base station based at least in part on traffic volume for the UE, which may assist with improving throughput (e.g., when data is available for the UE), and which may assist with extending battery life of the UE (e.g., when data is not available for the UE). In some aspects, such transitions and associated parameter values may be preconfigured or a transition may be triggered by expiration of a timer, thereby reducing signaling overhead.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques and apparatus for efficient support of connected discontinuous reception (C-DRX) by using a wireless device (e.g., a user equipment (UE)) with a second receiver. A wireless device with two receivers may place one receiver in a low power mode and take the receiver out of the low power mode in response to a signal received from a serving base station (BS) of the wireless device. A BS may direct a wireless device to enter a low power DRX (LP-DRX) mode or enhanced DRX mode having longer low power cycles than a non-enhanced DRX mode, and the wireless device may place a primary receiver in a low power mode in response to the directive from the BS. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and disclosed.
