Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a node may receive a configuration associated with measuring an energy level of a first frequency channel of an unlicensed radio frequency band, wherein the configuration indicates a set of measurement occasions during which the energy level is to be measured on the first frequency channel; measure the energy level on the first frequency channel in a first measurement occasion, of the set of measurement occasions, according to the configuration; and operate in association with a second frequency channel of the unlicensed radio frequency band based at least in part on measuring the energy level on the first frequency channel, wherein the second frequency channel is paired with the first frequency channel for the unlicensed radio frequency band. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine that a serving base station of the UE has obtained access to a wireless channel of a shared radio frequency spectrum band during a transmission opportunity that is separate from a scheduled uplink transmission by the UE. The UE may perform, based at least in part on the determination, a clear channel assessment (CCA) procedure on the wireless channel during a designated quiet portion of the transmission opportunity. The UE may transmit an unsolicited CCA status report to the serving base station during the transmission opportunity based at least in part on the CCA procedure.

Abstract: Synchronous communications mode detection is disclosed for unlicensed spectrum communications. To detect synchronous mode communications, an observing node monitors on-off transitions of communication transmissions on a shared communication spectrum. The observing node detects the on-off transition spacing of the on-off transitions over a sliding window of a detection period duration. The node may determine the number of candidate synchronous on-off transition spacings of the detected on-off transition spacings that are equal to an integer multiple of a synchronization period. If the number of candidate synchronous on-off transition spacings exceeds a threshold value the observing node will declare detection of a synchronous operation mode of the shared communication spectrum.

Abstract: Techniques providing opportunistic frequency switching for frame based equipment (FBE), such as may be configured to minimize opportunistic frequency switching delay in FBE new radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) networks and/or to provide frequency diversity FBE access based on offset sequences of medium sensing occasions for the carrier frequencies are disclosed. Within the FBE mode network, a base station may configure a pattern of sensing locations in each frame for each frequency transmission unit of the plurality of frequency transmission units, wherein an inter-unit delay of sensing locations between a first frequency transmission unit and a next adjacent frequency transmission unit and between a last frequency transmission unit and the first frequency transmission unit is a fixed duration. Opportunistic frequency switching of embodiments may utilize the medium sensing locations for opportunistically switching between a sequence of the frequency transmission units for implementing frequency diversity FBE access.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device may perform a clear channel assessment on a medium to determine if the medium is available for communications with a second wireless device. Based on a successful clear channel assessment, the first wireless device may transmit a medium reservation message to the second wireless device. The second wireless device may then transmit a reservation response message to the first wireless device, where the reservation response message includes synchronization information for the first device to synchronize with the second wireless device. The synchronization information may include a duration of a channel occupancy time, a duration of a synchronous contention window, and/or a duration in which the first wireless device is to maintain synchronization with the second wireless device. Accordingly, the first wireless device and the second wireless device may communicate based on the synchronization information via the medium.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a method and system for requesting access to resources for uplink communications in unlicensed spectrum. In particular, a user equipment (UE) may detect one or more of a first type of data or a second type of data to be transmitted to a base station (BS). The UE may then determine if a first type of physical random access channel (PRACH) resource is available for transmitting one or more of the first type of data or the second type of data to the BS. If the first type of PRACH resource is available, then the UE may transmit one or more of the first type of data or the second type of data using the first type of PRACH resource. If the first type of PRACH resource is not available, then the UE may transmit the second type of data using a second type of PRACH resource.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for transmitting channel reservation signals. In one example, a device used a gating interval to gain access to a channel of a shared spectrum, performs a clear channel assessment to determine if the channel is available, selects a channel reservation signal from among a plurality of predetermined channel reservation signals if the channel is clear, and transmits the channel reservation signal upon the channel being clear. The channel reservation signal comprises a preamble, and a message, wherein the CR preamble and the CR message use a common numerology understood by at least one of different radio access technologies, and different numerologies in the same radio access technology, and the radio access technologies comprise WIFI and NR-SS.
