Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support local light biasing for silicon photomultiplier (SiPM)-based photodetectors used in optical wireless communication (OWC). In a first aspect, a photodetector may include a silicon photomultipier (SiPM) having an input sensor configured to detect a light signal and an output interface configured to produce an output signal proportional to an intensity of the light signal detected at the input sensor, and a controllable light source positioned to emit a biasing light signal within a field of view of the input sensor, wherein the controllable light source is configured to emit the biasing light signal within a sensitivity range of the SiPM. When such photodetector is implemented in an OWC receiver, an analysis of the output signal allows the OWC receiver to adjust the biasing light at the controllable light source. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: A first apparatus may be implemented as a user equipment (UE) or a component thereof. The first apparatus may be configured to receive a pre-grant message from a base station on a wireless channel. The first apparatus may be further configured to determine an interference level associated with the wireless channel. The first apparatus may then indicate the interference level to the base station in response to the pre-grant message. A second apparatus may be implemented as a base station or a component thereof. The second apparatus may be configured to transmit a pre-grant message to a UE on a wireless channel. The second apparatus may be further configured to detect for an acknowledgement (ACK) message responsive to the pre-grant message from the UE. The second apparatus may then determine an interference level associated with the wireless channel proximate to the UE based on detecting for the ACK message.

Abstract: Symbol alignment and power scaling are provided for different length transmission time intervals (TTIs) within predefined boundaries, such as boundaries of a slot of a subframe. Described techniques provide for identifying time and/or frequency resources for one or more TTIs and allocating such resources based on a location within a subframe, pilot signals that may be transmitted using the resources, other processing timelines, or any combination thereof. In some cases, a power allocation for symbols within a TTI may be determined based on the allocated resources for the TTI. Frequency hopping patterns and power scaling for three-symbol TTIs are also provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Examples may include receiving, at a user equipment (UE) a random access channel (RACH) configuration message from a base station, where the message indicates a channel metric (e.g., received signal strength indicator (RSSI), reference signal received power (RSRP), reference signal received quality (RSRQ), a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), or the like) and a threshold associated with the channel metric. The, UE may measure a reference signal (e.g., synchronization signal block (SSB), channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS), or the like) and select a RACH procedure based on comparing the measured channel metric to the threshold. For example, the UE may select a two-step RACH procedure if the measured channel metric satisfies the threshold specified in the configuration. In some cases, the UE may select a RACH procedure or a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure based on a QoS parameter.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station and a user equipment (UE) may communicate in a high reliability and low latency communications system (e.g., ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC)). The base station may signal a UE-specific scheduling request (SR) repetition configuration that the UE may utilize to transmit an instantaneous SR when a buffer status report (BSR) is triggered by a new data packet. The UE may repeatedly transmit the SR until a number of repetitions or a time period of repetitions is met or an uplink grant is received from the base station. The SR repetition configuration may include a number of parameters including a repetition setting, power settings, a resource allocation, and an acknowledgement/negative acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) procedure.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) downlink communication. The UE may detect a collision between a configured uplink resource associated with a hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) for the SPS downlink communication and a candidate synchronization signal block (SSB) position. The UE may transmit the HARQ-ACK for the SPS downlink communication in the configured uplink resource or in a deferred uplink resource in connection with detecting the collision. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a base station may use a downlink control information (DCI) message to indicate timing resources to a user equipment (UE) for multiple downlink data repetitions in a slot. In a first implementation, the base station may indicate an explicit time domain resource allocation (TDRA) for one repetition in the TDRA field of the DCI, and the UE may determine implicit TDRAs for the other repetitions based on the explicit TDRA. In a second implementation, the base station may indicate a total TDRA for the full set of repetitions in the TDRA field, and the UE may divide the total TDRA into individual TDRAs for the repetitions. The UE may receive the downlink data repetitions based on determining the TDRAs and may transmit a feedback message in response based on a hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) codebook.
