    Abstract: A computing device is provided with a drive slot with a connector for engaging a corresponding connector of a HDD, and a first locking element. The computing device includes a removable a HDD carrier for insertion into the drive slot having a bracket, a handle and an enclosure slidably attached to the bracket for securing the HDD. The handle includes a second locking element extending therefrom and configured to receive the first locking element to restrict the removable HDD carrier to vertical motion. The first locking element engages with the second locking element when the handle is in the loading position and the bracket moves relative to the enclosure to secure the hard disk drive in the bracket and connect the connector of a hard disk drive to the connector located at the drive slot when the handle transitions from the loading position to the locked position.

    Abstract: An assembly bracket coupled to a component for locking and releasing the component with a latch of a component receiving module on a component board. The assembly bracket having a rotary hinge connected to a support bracket, a handle rotatable about the rotatory hinge between a retracted position and a deployed position, a linkage rotatably coupled to the handle, and a support lever coupled to the linkage and having an engagement member to engage the latch. When the handle is in the retracted position, the engagement member is engaged with the latch, thereby securing the component in the component receiving module. When the handle transitions from the retracted position to the deployed position, the support lever applies a force away from the component receiving module to thereby decouple the component from the component receiving module.

    Abstract: A release mechanism is disclosed that can facilitate safely and efficiently removing an expansion card from a computing device. The release mechanism can be installed on a motherboard around an expansion slot, and can include an opening that permits access to the expansion slot to allow an expansion card to be installed therein. When removal of the expansion card is desired, a handled of the release mechanism can be pulled, causing contact surfaces of the release mechanism to push the expansion card away from the expansion slot with even force, removing the need to tilt the expansion card.

    Abstract: An integrated latch apparatus for a securing and releasing computer equipment from a chassis includes a support bracket, a rotating shaft, a sliding plate having a latching extension, and a handle having a rotating end. The handle is secured at the rotating end to the support bracket about the rotating shaft. The rotating end of the handle includes nudging extensions. A torsion spring is disposed on the rotating shaft such that the torsion spring biases the support bracket against the handle such that the handle is in an open position when the torsion spring is extended towards an equilibrium state and in a closed position when the torsion spring is biased toward a fully compressed state. The nudging extensions engage and laterally move a sliding plate when the handle is rotated between the open position and the closed position.

    Abstract: A docking system for facilitating a connection of an electronics module to a mating connector comprises first and second rails. Each rail has an elongated guide slot for receiving a corresponding guide portion of the electronics module during sliding movement of the electronics module toward the mating connector. A first elastic structure is located on the first rail. The first elastic structure has a first engagement portion extending into the elongated guide slot of the first rail. A second elastic structure is located on the second rail. The second elastic structure has a second engagement portion extending into the elongated guide slot of the second rail. The first engagement portion and the second engagement portion are configured to engage the guide portions of the electronics module and to resist movement of the guide portions in a direction generally perpendicular to the sliding movement of the electronics module.

    Abstract: A method for converting a computing device from a first configuration to a second configuration is provided. A power supply unit of the computing device is moved from a first location at a second end of the computing device to a second location at a first end of the computing device. The power supply unit is rotated such that a power interface of the power supply unit is visible from the first end of the computing device. A set of fans of the computing device is rotated such that airflow direction of the set of fans matches an airflow direction of the power supply unit at the second location. Converting the computing device from the first configuration to the second configuration can allow communication ports to be accessed from a front end or from a rear end of the computing device.

    Abstract: An M.2 fastening system has an M.2 riser card with two module-receiving sides and a plurality of adjustment positions. The M.2 fastening system further has a pair of M.2 fasteners mounted respectively on the module-receiving sides. Each M.2 fastener has a main body defined by a top surface and a bottom surface; a module attachment extending from the top surface; and a hook extending from the bottom surface along a lateral side of the main body. The hook of one of the M.2 fasteners is received through an attachment aperture of an adjustment position. The hook is pressed-fit over the top surface of the main body of another M.2 fastener. The hook secures the M.2 riser card between the pair of M.2 fasteners in a tool-less manner.

    Abstract: An air baffle for optimizing thermal performance of memory components provided in a chassis is disclosed. The air baffle has a body and one or more venting units provided on the body. The body is configured to be removably coupled to the chassis. The body covers the memory components when coupled to the chassis. The one or more venting units direct air flowing through the chassis. Each of the venting units includes vent openings and a corresponding number of adjustable venting plates. The vent openings are each aligned with the memory components when the body is coupled to the chassis. Each of the adjustable venting plates have an open position or a closed position. A respective venting plate of the adjustable venting plates in the open position allows airflow through a respective vent opening of the vent openings. The respective venting plate of the adjustable venting plates in the closed position blocks airflow through the respective vent opening of the vent openings.
