    Abstract: A common carrier for different device cards for installation in a server is disclosed. The common carrier has a base module that includes side walls and a bottom panel. The bottom panel has a plurality of registration features, each of the registration features corresponding to one of a plurality of different device cards. A top cover includes side walls that is assembled with the base module. A device card of the plurality of different device cards is positioned between the base module and the top cover by at least one of the registration features.

    Abstract: A pass-through device seals an opening of a barrier while permitting one or more cables to pass through the opening. The pass-through device includes a two-part seal that moves between an open position that permits insertion of a cable, and a closed position that establishes an airtight seal around the cable. The two-part seal can include a stationary seal segment and a moving seal segment. The moving seal segment can be moved away from the stationary seal segment by unlatching and opening a door on the pass-through device. A cable can be placed between the seal segments, and the door can be closed until it latches, thus sealing the cable between the seal segments. The seal segments can include inclines to urge the cable towards cable openings of the seal segments. In some cases, the two-part seal can include openings for multiple cables.

The computing device includes a chassis with a first end and a second end; fan modules located at the first end of the chassis; and a Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) baseboard located at a front side of the chassis. The PCIe baseboard is configured to support placement thereof in the chassis in a first position and a second position. The second position of the PCIe baseboard is a 180-degree rotation from the first position. The PCIe baseboard includes GPU slots for installing a plurality of graphic processing units (GPUs), the GPUs including fan modules.

    Abstract: A flexible shoulder pin module includes a barrel having an annular head portion, a cylindrical body portion, and a through-hole extending from a top surface of the body portion to a bottom end of the head portion; and a shoulder pin having a shaft portion and a shoulder portion formed thereon. The through-hole includes a first portion adjacent to the top surface of the body portion, and a second portion having a greater diameter than the first portion. The shaft portion is insertable through the first portion into the second portion.     Abstract: A removable lever apparatus for inserting and removing computer equipment from a chassis module of a server rack includes a central rotatable structure, a long arm connected to and extending in a first direction away from the central rotatable structure, and a short arm connected to and extending in a second direction away from the central rotatable structure. The central rotatable structure includes a rotation stopper for limiting rotation about the axis of rotation between an inserting position and a removing position. The central rotatable structure also includes a retention structure for maintaining the coupling to the tray when the central rotatable structure is in a position other than the inserting position.     Abstract: A cover for covering an opening of a socket formed by a housing comprises a body; one or more bosses extending from the body, a first locking mechanism, a second locking mechanism, and a release tab. The bosses movably couple the body to the housing such that the body is movable between first and second positions. The first locking mechanism releasably attaches to the housing to secure the body in the first position.     Abstract: A tiered locking mechanism secures a component card to a printed circuit board and includes a base, a top slider structure, and a biasing element. The base includes a first-tier side wall and a coupling structure configured to engage the PCB. The top slider structure includes a second-tier side wall along with protrusions having a beveled edge. The top slider structure is slidable between locked and unlocked positions. The unlocked position includes the protrusions being displaced away from a component card engagement side relative to the locked position. A bottom one of the protrusions and the first-tier side wall form a first receiving slot in the locked position. Atop one of the plurality of protrusions and the second-tier wall form a second receiving slot. The biasing element is configured to urge the top slider structure toward the locked position and to compress as the top slider structure moves away from the component card engagement side.

    Abstract: A release mechanism is disclosed that can facilitate safely and efficiently removing an expansion card from a computing device. The release mechanism can be installed on a motherboard around an expansion slot, and can include an opening that permits access to the expansion slot to allow an expansion card to be installed therein. When removal of the expansion card is desired, a handled of the release mechanism can be pulled, causing contact surfaces of the release mechanism to push the expansion card away from the expansion slot with even force, removing the need to tilt the expansion card.

    Abstract: A method for converting a computing device from a first configuration to a second configuration is provided. A power supply unit of the computing device is moved from a first location at a second end of the computing device to a second location at a first end of the computing device. The power supply unit is rotated such that a power interface of the power supply unit is visible from the first end of the computing device. A set of fans of the computing device is rotated such that airflow direction of the set of fans matches an airflow direction of the power supply unit at the second location. Converting the computing device from the first configuration to the second configuration can allow communication ports to be accessed from a front end or from a rear end of the computing device.
