    Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes measuring, by a first local controller connected to a first converter, one or more characteristics of the first converter. The first converter belongs to a set of two or more converters in a power system configured to power equipment, and each of the two or more converters is connected to a respective local controller. An arc fault is detected based at least in part on the one or more characteristics of the first converter, and an indication of the arc fault is communicated to the central controller. The arc fault is remediated by performing one or more remedial operations determined by at least one of the first local controller and the central controller.

    Abstract: A transformer includes a closed loop core having a first leg and a second leg. The transformer also includes a first primary winding surrounding the first and second legs, a second primary winding surrounding the first and second legs, and first and second secondary windings surrounding the first and second legs, respectively, and disposed between the first and second primary windings. A first turn of the first and second secondary windings are disposed on a first interlayer winding layer, and other turns of the first and second secondary windings are disposed on a first layer that is further from the first primary winding than the first interlayer winding layer.

    Abstract: An inductive wireless power transfer device includes a primary winding assembly and a secondary winding assembly separated from the primary winding assembly by a distance. A first magnetic core cap is on the primary winding assembly and a second magnetic core cap is on the secondary winding assembly so as to magnetically couple together the primary winding assembly and the secondary winding assembly. A multi-section high voltage (HV) isolator is interposed between the primary winding assembly and the secondary winding assembly. The multi-section HV isolator includes at least one individual insulator section comprising a dielectric material, and at least one intermediate magnetic core comprising a ferrite material interposed between the primary winding assembly and the secondary winding assembly.

    Abstract: A system includes at least one pair of series adaptive clamps (SACs). Each SAC is configured to connect to a single conductor that is configured to conduct a constant current between shore-side power sources on opposite ends of the single conductor. Each SAC is configured to clamp a specified amount of power from the single conductor. Each SAC is configured to connect to one end of two ends of a power transfer bus, wherein the other end of the power transfer bus is connected to another SAC of a same pair of SACs. Each SAC is configured to provide a constant voltage to the power transfer bus at the constant current in order to supply at least some of the specified amount of power to a load connected to the power transfer bus.

    Abstract: A solid-state zero current switching circuit breaker is configured to interrupt current flow between a voltage input and a load. The solid-state zero current switching circuit breaker includes at least one resonant capacitor cell having an input configured to receive a source voltage and an output configured to deliver drive current to the load. The resonant capacitor cell is configured to selectively limit the drive current to the output based on a variable voltage. The solid-state zero current switching circuit breaker further includes at least one voltage clamping switch configured to detect a short-circuit fault or an overload condition. The voltage clamping switch adjusts the variable voltage in response to detecting the short-circuit fault condition or the overload condition such that the resonant capacitor cell limits the drive current.
