Abstract: A magnetic isolator includes a dielectric film having a layer of electrically-conductive soft magnetic material bonded thereto. The layer of electrically-conductive soft magnetic material comprises substantially coplanar electrically-conductive soft magnetic islands separated one from another by gaps. At least some of the electrically-conductive soft magnetic islands have an outer insulating oxidized layer that electrically insulates them from adjacent electrically-conductive soft magnetic islands. The gaps at least partially suppress electrical eddy current induced within the layer of soft magnetic material when in the presence of applied external magnetic field. An electronic device including the magnetic isolator and a method of making the magnetic isolator are also disclosed.

Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatuses for reducing the height of bipolar transmitters and/or receivers in electric vehicle charging and/or power transfer are described herein. One implementation may include an apparatus for wireless power transfer. The apparatus comprises a ferromagnetic layer comprising at least one portion having a reduced thickness. The apparatus further comprises a first coil having at least one portion countersunk into the at least one portion of the ferromagnetic layer having the reduced thickness. The apparatus further comprises a second coil overlapping the at least one countersunk portion of the first coil. The at least one portion having the reduced thickness comprises a recess in the ferromagnetic layer. The ferromagnetic layer comprises a first plurality of ferromagnetic tiles having a first thickness and the at least one portion having the reduced thickness comprises a second plurality of ferromagnetic tiles having the reduced thickness.

Abstract: Provided are a combination antenna module and a portable electronic device including the same. There is provided a combo antenna module that includes an antenna unit including and a switching unit. The antenna unit includes a circuit board, a first wireless power transmission antenna, and a second wireless power transmission antenna of which manner is different from that of the first wireless power transmission antenna. The switching unit includes a first capacitor and a second capacitor connected in parallel to the second wireless power transmission antenna, and a switch, disposed between the first capacitor and the second capacitor, to be opened or closed based on an operation mode of the antenna unit. The second antenna and the second capacitor form a closed loop which is coupled with the first antenna when the switch is opened.

Abstract: A wireless power transmission module is provided. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a wireless power transmission module includes an antenna unit, a magnetic field shielding sheet, and a planar heat radiating plate. The antenna unit includes at least one wireless power transfer antenna. The magnetic field shielding sheet shields a magnetic field generated by the antenna unit to suppress external leakage of the magnetic field and concentrate the magnetic field in a desired direction. The planar heat radiating plate which is disposed on one surface of the magnetic field shielding sheet to release heat generated by the antenna unit. The wireless power transmission module is equipped or embedded in a vehicle to be used to charge a main battery of a portable terminal.

The computing unit further includes a system base coupled to the power receiving unit wherein the power receiving unit is to provide power to the system base.
