Abstract:
An endocapsule has a measurement chamber therein containing a sensor that detects at least one metabolic product of a specific bacterium in a hollow organ of a human or animal gastrointestinal tract. The endocapsule is introduced into the hollow organ wherein detection of the at least one metabolic product takes place.
Abstract:
In a medical apparatus for implementation of operative procedures on a patient, an image acquisition device and a position determination device combined and permanently associated in the medical apparatus. The position determination device serves for determination of the position of at least one medical instrument within an operation region.
Abstract:
In a method for operation of a scattered-ray grid for an imaging system operating with x-rays, wherein an image of a part of a human or animal body to be examined is produced with the imaging system, is improved by evaluation of at least one property associated with the size of the body, and usage or non-usage of a scattered-ray grid in the production of the image are dependent on the evaluation of the property.
Abstract:
An operating system and method for carrying out surgical interventions on a patient, having a storage device for storing image data of the patient, a surgical instrument, a position sensor fitted on the surgical instrument, and a processing device for calculating, the spatial relationship between the position of the surgical instrument and the organ which is represented by the image data, and for inserting the region of the image data that correspond to the surroundings of the surgical instrument at the correct position into a display device.
Abstract:
A C-arm X-ray system has a C-arm that carries an X-ray source and a detector opposite one another at its ends and that can be swiveled around the subject in multiple axes. The detector is mounted so as to be rotatable around the proceeding axis therefrom to the X-ray source and/or to be displaceable parallel to the detector surface and/or along a arcuate path.
Abstract:
A method for operating a nuclear magnetic resonance apparatus having coils for generating a fundamental magnetic field and gradient magnetic fields in which an examination subject is disposed, and having a transmitter/receiver for generating a sequence of high-frequency pulses and for acquiring nuclear magnetic resonance signals from the examination subject operates the apparatus by simply switching the gradient fields, leaving the gradient fields unmodulated. The pulse sequences generated by the pulse generator and by the gradient field coils are such that a dynamic equilibrium magnetization is generated. The method is particularly suitable for rapid generation of a tomographic image.
Abstract:
An endoscopy system has an endo-robot that is navigable within an anatomical lumen of a patient by interacting with a magnetic field generated by an extracorporeal magnet system. The patient lies on a patient bed that is movable in one or more directions and/or orientations, and an obstacle detects objects in the movement path of the endo-robot in the anatomical lumen and produces a signal that causes the position and/or orientation of the patient bed to be altered dependent thereon.
Abstract:
An X-ray facility has at least one x-ray emitter, an x-ray detector and an isocenter arranged along a central beam path between the x-ray emitter and the x-ray detector. The x-ray emitter and the x-ray detector are arranged on separate support arms. At least one rotary device is provided on each support arm, by way of which the x-ray emitter or the x-ray detector can be rotated about an axis of rotation intersecting the isocenter and not corresponding to the central beam. Wherein the axes of rotation match rotary devices assigned to one another on different support arms.
Abstract:
In a method to determine a parameter of a fixing element for an implant to be affixed to a bone, the actual design of the bone and the relative attitude of the implant positioned on this are determined, a virtual 3D model depicting the actual design of the bone and the relative attitude of the implant is generated, and a parameter of the fixing element is determined automatically using the virtual 3D model.
Abstract:
It is possible, by use of a calibration scale shown in partial X-ray images, for non-overlapping partial X-ray images to be combined and assigned to one another. Therefore the individual x-ray images which are not overlapping can be related spatially. In this manner x-ray images only have to be made of surgically significant regions and therefore the x-ray exposure of a patient is reduced.
