    摘要: A fluid amplifier is used in a pneumatic transducer to provide a control output pressure in response to a pilot pressure provided as a function of a current signal. The fluid amplifier includes a valve that opens a pressure source to the control port and also controls pressure feeding through an exhaust passageway. The amplifier valve is provided with a negative feedback arrangement as the exhaust back pressure increases to stabilize the operation and make the amplifier less sensitive. The pneumatic amplifier is provided with a diaphragm arrangement that results in increasing exhaust back pressures tending to close the exhaust valve, rather than open the exhaust valve. The negative feedback makes the valve more easily controlled and provides for more stable operation.

    摘要: An improved magnetic actuator for providing mechanical actuation representative of an input current has a housing that supports a coil surrounding a central core, and includes a diaphragm type spring above the central core. A cover of high magnetic permeability is mounted on the housing spaced from the diaphragm spring. A permanent magnet is mounted on the diaphragm spring in a predetermined pole orientation and the magnet extends through an opening in the cover. The permanent magnet provides flux through the housing and the core. Sensitivity is increased by using the permanent magnet to provide a magnetic flux in addition to that created by currents in the coil. The magnet is oriented in relation to current flow in the coil so that the flux from the magnet will add to that generated by the coil in the gap between the pole face formed by the core and the spring and will subtract from the flux generated by the coil in the gap between the spring and the cover to provide a substantially linear deflection versus current relationship. The diaphragm spring is a sandwich of a pair of spider like spring discs having a thin layer of rubber between the plates to provide dampening to reduce sensitivity to vibration while aiding in providing linear operation.

In one embodiment, a method for manufacturing a pH sensor comprises forming a sensor electrode in a working surface of a die wherein the sensor electrode is able to sense the pH of a liquid and forming at least one isolation groove around the sensor electrode on the working surface of the die, wherein the die has a wide street around the sensor electrode and the at least one isolation groove. The method further comprises mounting the die onto a base and securing a seal on the working surface in the wide street, wherein the seal surrounds the isolation groove, the seal sealing the liquid within the portion of the working surface of the die containing the sensor electrode and the isolation groove, when the pH sensor is subjected to high pressure.

    摘要: A pressure sensing device comprises a substrate having an opening, a pressure sensor die electrically connected to the substrate, and a pedestal having an upper surface that extends through the opening in the substrate, with the upper surface affixed to the sensor die. The pedestal has a pressure port that extends from the upper surface to a bottom surface of the pedestal, with the pressure port containing a hermetic sealing tube therein. A hermetic sealing cover is affixed to the substrate over the sensor die, with the cover and the substrate containing a reference pressure for the sensor die. A media isolation component has a chamber filled with a fluid that transmits a pressure applied to the media isolation component to the pressure sensor die. A capillary tube is affixed within the pressure port of the pedestal and is in communication with the sealing tube. The capillary tube and the sealing tube provide fluid communication between the chamber of the media isolation component and the sensor die.

    摘要: Electronic steam trap monitoring is disclosed. An electronic steam trap monitor is operably coupled to an outlet of a steam trap and is configured to measure at least one process variable of fluid (liquid or gas) flowing through the trap, when the trap is known to be working normally. The steam trap monitor stores the process variable information obtained during the known operating condition for later comparison. The steam trap monitor obtains a later process variable measurement and compares it to the stored measurement to selectively generate a leakage indication. The steam trap monitor preferably uses a local power source and communicates wirelessly.
