Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic device including a communication circuit and a processor. The processor may be configured to communicate with an external electronic device based on a specified protocol, using the communication circuit, to receive first information at least including type information of the external electronic device based on the specified protocol, using the communication circuit, and to determine a positioning master for measuring a distance between the electronic device and the external electronic device based at least on the first information among the electronic device and the external electronic device. Other various embodiments as understood from the specification are also possible.

Abstract: An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present disclosure includes: a first communication circuit; a second communication circuit; a processor operatively coupled with the first communication circuit and the second communication circuit; and a memory operatively coupled with the processor. The memory may store instructions, when executed, causing the processor to receive from a base station (BS) a synchronization signal including identification information of the BS via the first communication circuit, identify a direction from the electronic device to the BS by transmitting and receiving at least one signal with respect to the BS via the second communication circuit based on the identification information of the BS, and perform beam training by using some beams corresponding to the identified direction among a plurality of beams supported by the electronic device. Other embodiments are also possible.

The processor may control the communication circuit to: identify, based on a characteristic of data to be transmitted using the first communication circuit, a frame length of the data to be transmitted; determine, based on the identified frame length, a peak voltage of a signal containing the data to be transmitted; and transmit the data using the signal having the determined peak voltage.

A signal received through a second antenna is identified by decoding the received signal based on the identified communication state. A distance between the electronic device and the external device is determined based on whether the received signal is a low frequency (LF) signal.
