There is provided a content supplying device that supplies streaming data of content in accordance with MPEG-DASH, the content supplying device including: an HTTP transmission unit configured to convert each segment of the streaming data into a file and to unicast the resulting segment files via HTTP; an RTP transmission unit configured to multicast and/or broadcast the segment files via RTP; and a metafile generation unit configured to generate a metafile describing a chronological correspondence relation between the segment files to be unicasted via HTTP and the segment files to be multicasted and/or broadcasted via RTP, and to supply the metafile to a receiver.

Disclosed herein is a transmission apparatus including: at least one content recognition section; and a timeline data generation section. The content recognition section has a database block configured to store reference data including at least signature data and a content identifier, and timeline data including at least an application identifier and timeline information. The content recognition section further has a response generation block configured to recognize content from which signature data included in a query, generate a response including the timeline data including a content identifier and the application identifier, and return the generated response to the reception apparatus. The timeline data generation section is configured to generate the timeline data and collectively supply the generated timeline data to the at least one content recognition section, the generated timeline data being common to the at least one content recognition section.

A technique capable of allowing a reception side to easily select components is provided. A transport stream in which a first transport packet including predetermined components and a second transport packet including signaling information related to the predetermined components are time-division multiplexed is transmitted via a predetermined transport path. Component selection information is inserted in the second transport packet. The component selection information includes information on a selective layer in which static selection is performed, information on a composite layer in which composition is performed, and information on an adaptive layer in which dynamic switching is performed, and these layers being arranged in that order from top to bottom. The acquisition destination information of a component which is a target of adaptive switching among the components selectable in the adaptive layer is information that designates specific information location of a metafile having data stream acquisition information for adaptive streaming.

The present technology relates to a receiving apparatus, a transmitting apparatus, and a data processing method which are capable of providing detailed information of emergency information that is to be announced in case of emergency.The receiving apparatus receives a digital broadcast signal, and performs a process with respect to an emergency information application for presenting detailed information of emergency information on the basis of control information that is included in the digital broadcast signal and that includes information about the detailed information of the emergency information which needs to be announced urgently. The present technology is applicable to a television receiver, for example.

A content delivery apparatus delivers content to a client that reproduces the content using a plurality of networks with different transport characteristics. A content providing apparatus provides the content delivery apparatus with a policy serving as a determination criterion when delivery of each of streams is distributed by the plurality of networks when the content constituted by a plurality of streams with different characteristics. Middleware of a receiving device that performs a broadcasting content output process receives an emergency information delivery notification transmitted by a transmitting device and generates emergency information event notification data including configuration data of the received emergency information delivery notification. An output data control unit acquires event notification data and executes a process of acquiring or displaying emergency information on the basis of the acquired event notification data. For example, in a case where emergency information overlaid on an image is delivered, application presentation content is deleted in accordance with an event notification, and in the case of signaling emergency information delivery, a process of acquiring and outputting the emergency information promptly is executed.
