摘要: Deterioration of the high frequency characteristics of a field effect transistor is prevented, and the on- and off-gate leakage currents are reduced. A field effect transistor comprises the fourth electrode 126 between the gate electrode 122 and the drain electrode 118. The fourth electrode is formed to satisfy the relationship of 0.25=(FP2−D)/Lgd=0.5, where Lgd represents a distance between the gate and drain electrodes and FP2−D does the distance between the drain and fourth electrodes.

摘要: To provide means for editing a content data stream quickly. A data processor according to the present invention can edit a content that has been written on a medium. The content is stored in a file as a data stream including multiple packets of the same packet size. And a file system for accessing data on a cluster size basis has been established on the medium. The data processor includes: a receiving section, which receives an instruction on a partial deletion range including the beginning of the file; and a media control section for deleting data, the size of which is an integral number of times as large as the least common multiple of the cluster size and the packet size, from the beginning of the file within the partial deletion range.

摘要: An audio/video information recording and reproducing apparatus and method are provided, in which a post-recording function can be realized on an optical disc easily even with an inexpensive disc drive having a seek time at a relative low speed. In the case of recording a video file, the video file is recorded on an optical disc continuously for a period of time related to three times or more the seek time. Then, in the case of recording an audio for lip-sync, the audio for lip-sync is recorded continuously by a predetermined data size, and simultaneously, the recorded video file is reproduced, whereby real-time continuous reproduction and recording are performed simultaneously. Because of this, in the case of reproducing the audio for lip-sync, simultaneous reproduction of a video file and an audio file can be assured.

摘要: A method of renting portable telephones is disclosed. When a portable telephone 5 is rented from a first rental shop 4-1 and returned to a second rental shop 4-2 different from the first, the telephone identification code 5(ID) and the first rental shop identification code 4-1(ID) stored therein are read and transmitted to a control center 2. Simultaneously, the number of call units 52A recorded in the portable telephone 5 is also read and transmitted to the control center 2. Based on this return data 20, the control center 2 is able to track the movement of the portable telephones 5 among the rental shops 4 (4-1, 4-2, . . . ) and to enter the use charge in the accounts as sales of the first rental shop 4-1. In addition, it can also ascertain the number of portable telephones 5 available for rental and the number of portable telephones 5 on loan at each rental shop. As a result, the renting and returning of the portable telephones among the rental shops 4 can be conducted efficiently.

摘要: A printer is provided to improve the conveying accuracy of a Y-bar, thus improving printed image quality. The printer includes the Y-bar that extends in a first direction above a flatbed on which a medium is mounted, holds an ink droplet ejecting head unit so that the head unit is movable in the first direction, and is held so as to be movable with respect to the flatbed in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The printer includes a drive mechanism that conveys the Y-bar in the second direction, a drive control device that carries out a drive control of the drive mechanism, and a measuring device that directly measures an amount of movement of the Y-bar with respect to the flatbed. The drive control device corrects controlled variables of the drive mechanism based on the amount of movement of the Y-bar measured by the measuring device.

摘要: A reproducing apparatus includes a reproducing section picking up any signals compressed in a plurality of different compression methods from a recording medium. The recording medium records the signals compressed in a plurality of different compression methods and record management information denoting association of the signals compressed in a plurality of different compression methods with each other, respectively. A decoding section decodes the signal picked up from said recording medium, and a recording section records reproduction management information including reproduction-interruption information in the reproducing section associated with the record management information onto the recording medium.
