There is provided a cathode ray tube capable of displaying high quality images by suppressing eddy current from occurring and by realizing the velocity modulation. A cylindrical focusing electrode is divided into first cylindrical focusing electrode 4B and second cylindrical focusing electrode 4T and the gap between the both electrodes formed and divided by optimizing the length of the second cylindrical focusing electrode 4T in the tube axial direction is enlarged substantially to increase the infiltration of the velocity modulating magnetic field to the non-electric space of the focusing electrode 4. An electrode 4a having the equal potential with the focusing electrode 4 is disposed at the gap to suppress eddy current from being generated.

This invention relates to a motor velocity control method and storage device for performing loading/unloading control of a head that reads from a storage medium in order to move it away from the storage medium. In order to detect accurate velocity from the counter electromotive voltage of the motor for performing loading/unloading control, the storage device comprises a storage medium 6, head 4, actuator 3, control circuit 19 and ramp 11. Velocity control is performed by using the velocity detected from the counter electromotive voltage of the actuator 3 in the unloading/loading control of moving the head 4 away from the storage medium 6. Moreover, the transient response voltage of the actuator is calculated and the detected voltage is corrected. Furthermore, the velocity offset coefficient for converting the counter electromotive voltage to velocity is calibrated. Also, the velocity correction coefficient for converting the counter electromotive voltage to velocity is calibrated. This makes it possible to obtain accurate velocity from the counter electromotive voltage.

In a liquid crystal display device having a repair line for replacing a signal line disconnected in a display area thereof and extended from one side thereof to another side thereof opposite to the one side thereof, there is provided a signal amplifier on a circuit board arranged at the one side thereof. Since the circuit board supplies control signals to a signal driver circuit which outputs a video signal or the like to be transferred by the repair line toward another side of the liquid crystal display device, the video signal can be amplified by the signal amplifier before its waveform is deformed on its way through the repair line. Therefore, the video signal can be supplied to a part of the disconnected signal line at the another side of the liquid crystal display device by preventing the video signal from being deformed and delayed.
