A dielectric filter is formed by a plurality of resonator holes which are formed in a single dielectric block in such a manner that they extend in a direction between an open-circuited end surface and a short-circuited end surface of the dielectric block. The resonator holes are opened only at the short-circuited end surface. An inner conductor is formed on an inner surface of each of the resonator holes. An outer conductor is formed on an outer surface of the dielectric block. Capacitor electrodes respectively corresponding to the resonator holes are formed on the open-circuited end surface of the dielectric block. Input/output electrodes electrically connected to the capacitor electrodes are formed in such a manner that they extend on both the open-circuited end surface and a bottom surface of the dielectric block. In this structure, since all the capacitive components constituting the filter can be obtained by either the capacitances formed between the capacitor electrodes and the inner conductors, or the capacitances formed in a gap between the capacitor electrodes, the dielectric filter can be constructed in the form of a single block.

The resonator holes and input and output external coupling bores are formed substantially in parallel with each other between a pair of opposing end faces of the dielectric block. The resonator holes are provided with internal conductors except for dielectric bases in the vicinity of openings thereof. The internal conductors are connected to the external conductor at the pair of end faces so that resonators having specific resonator lengths are constituted by the positions of open ends thereof formed by the dielectric bases. The input and output external coupling bores are provided with internal conductors. The internal conductors are connected to the external conductor at one end face of the dielectric block and connected to the input and output terminals at the other end face of the dielectric block. The invention provides a high frequency filter which can facilitate filter-characteristic adjustments and miniaturization and can obtain an excellent broadband characteristic. In addition, the invention provides a filter device using the high frequency filter, and an electronic apparatus incorporating the same. In this filter, a ground electrode is arranged on one of the main surfaces of a dielectric substrate. On the other main surface thereof there are arranged two or more microstrip lines, and one end of each microstrip line is grounded via a through-hole to form a high frequency filter. The microstrip lines and the shared through-hole constitute microstrip line resonators, which are coupled via the inductance of the through-hole. With this arrangement, there is no need for an additional coupling element. Thus, the size of the high frequency filter can be reduced. Furthermore, since a large coupling coefficient can be obtained, the high frequency filter can have a broadband characteristic.

A method is disclosed which allows the electrical characteristics of a microstrip line filter or the like to be reliably measured using a two-dimensional measuring jig, even if components thereof to be measured are small in size and are not discrete components. A first ground electrode is formed substantially over the entire bottom surface of a dielectric substrate, and resonator electrodes are disposed on the top surface of the dielectric substrate. Input/output electrodes are each connected to a first-stage resonator electrode and a last-stage resonator electrode. Second ground electrodes conductively connected to the first ground electrode are disposed beside each of the input/output electrodes. By this structure, each of the input/output portions is provided with a grounded coplanar guide configuration.
