    摘要: A braking system for motorcycles, having a first manual brake-operating member consisting of a brake lever, and a second foot-power brake-operating member consisting of a brake pedal. The braking system also includes a brake oil pressure generating unit, which is provided with a first brake oil pressure chamber having a first output port, and a second brake oil pressure chamber having a second output port, and which is capable of generating an oil pressure in the first and second brake oil pressure chambers by an input thereinto from either the first brake operating member or the second brake operating member to output a brake oil pressure to the first and second output ports. A brake for front wheels is communicated with the first output port, and adapted to be operated by an output oil pressure from the first output port and thereby apply the braking force to the front wheels. A brake for rear wheels is communicated with the second output port, and adapted to be operated by an output oil pressure from the second output port and thereby apply the braking force to the rear wheels. During a braking operation, the braking force from one of the brakes is lessened and restored by an anti-lock means.

    摘要: A vehicular clutch apparatus including a clutch unit disposed between an engine output shaft and a transmission, the clutch unit having driving clutch plates and driven clutch plates interleaved with the driving plates and a piston movable upon receipt of hydraulic pressure from a pressure source to press such plates into engagement, wherein in the hydraulic flow path leading from the hydraulic pressure source to the piston there is disposed a directional control valve which is interlocked with a clutch lever for cutting off the communication between the piston and pressure source and release the hydraulic pressure fed to the piston to the atmosphere. A valve is further disposed in the flow path to automatically release the hydraulic pressure in the path to the atmosphere in response to gear shift operation, thereby disengaging the clutch unit.

    摘要: A friction clutch device comprising a clutch spring capable of springing friction plates in a preset direction, a hydraulic device capable of generating oil pressure for likewise pressing said friction plates in said preset direction, and a release device which, when in inoperative conditions, permits the springing force of said clutch spring and the oil pressure of said hydraulic device to act as said pressing force with respect to said friction plates and which, when in operative conditions, effects the discharge of oil pressure from said hydraulic device and the release of the springing force of said clutch spring with respect to said friction plates. With this arrangement, the engaging force of the clutch device is obtained by the sum of the springing force of the clutch spring with respect to a pressure plate and the pressing force by use of oil pressure of the hydraulic device whereas the disengaging position is obtained by the release of the springing force of the clutch spring resulting from the operation of a release mechanism and the release of oil pressure. Thus, it becomes possible to increase the capacity of load while controlling the clutch operating force to the minimal value as needed. In addition, the present device is advantageous because the required engaging force can be secured by the clutch spring even if no oil pressure is present in the source of oil pressure.
