Abstract: A network device may receive, a flow control request for a first device that is registered for an internet protocol (IP) pinhole service. The flow control request may include a device identifier associated with the first device and a private IP address. The network device may identify at least one of IP address information, port information, and pinhole rules. The network device may provide, to another network device, a flow control response that includes at least one of the IP address information, the port information, and the pinhole rules. The flow control response may cause the other network device to allow traffic flow through the firewall using at least one of the IP address information and the port information. The network device may provide a public IP address and a port identifier to a second device, allowing the second device to provide traffic to the first device.

Abstract: Systems described herein use a group packet data network (PDN) to support communications from machine-type communications (MTC) devices on wireless networks. The systems assign a MTC device to a group with a group identifier, the group associating the MTC device, and other MTC devices, with a particular customer network; receive an attach request from the MTC device; retrieve, based on the attach request, the group identifier for the MTC device; configure a bearer path between the MTC device and the particular customer network, the bearer path including a group PDN that transports data packets from the MTC device, and the other MTC devices, between a serving gateway (SGW) and a PDN gateway (PGW); and send data packets from the MTC device over the group PDN.

Abstract: Systems described herein ensure authorized communications between application servers and machine-type communications (MTC) devices. The systems store a subscriber profile for an MTC device, the subscriber profile including application server (AS) configuration information designating application servers that are authorized to connect with the MTC device. The systems receive a non-IP data delivery (NIDD) registration request from an application server, wherein the NIDD registration request includes an identifier for the MTC device. The systems obtain, from the application server, a first identifier for the application server, and retrieve, based on the NIDD registration request, the AS configuration information from the subscriber profile. The systems determine if there is a match between the AS configuration information and the first identifier for the application server, and configure a binding of the application server and an access point name (APN) for the MTC device in response to determining that there is a match.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide to generate a paging message that includes a group identifier that identifies a group of end devices to which a paging pertains; broadcast the paging message in response to the generation; start a timer in response to the broadcast of the paging message; generate, in response to a first time interval calculated by the timer, a first message that includes at least one of a sub-group identifier, which identifies a sub-group of the end devices of the group to which the paging pertains, or an individual identifier, which identifies one of the end devices of the group to which the paging pertains, wherein the first message is generated based on a radio access-radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI) value; and broadcast the first message in response to the generation of the first message.

Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for the predictive determination of regions, such as registration areas associated with a wireless network, with respect to a User Equipment (“UE”) that registers with the wireless network. Such registration areas may be associated with different services, Quality of Service (“QoS”) parameters, network slices, or the like. When registering with the wireless network, the UE may receive an indication of a registration area that includes multiple tracking areas, which include a tracking area in which the UE is currently located and one or more other tracking areas in which the UE is likely to enter, as predicted based on one or more artificial intelligence/machine learning (“AI/ML”) models. The prediction may be based on the current location of the UE, UE attributes or parameters, and/or historical location information associated with the UE and/or other UEs.

Abstract: Systems and method are provided for a temporary network slice usage barring service within a core network. A network device in the core network receives a slice barring information message for an application function (AF). The slice barring information message includes a unique subscriber identifier associated with a user equipment (UE) device to be barred from a network slice and indicates a barring expiration time. The network device stores barring parameters based on the slice barring information message. The barring parameters include a slice identifier associated with the AF, the unique subscriber identifier, and the barring expiration time. The network device sends a barring instruction message to another network device associated with the network slice. The barring instruction message includes the unique subscriber identifier and the barring expiration time. The other network device enforces temporary barring of the UE device from the network slice based on the barring instruction message.
