    摘要: On a first substrate constituting a liquid crystal display there are disposed a first electrode (13) and a second electrode (14), a non-linear resistance element (9) being placed at an intersection between a part of the first electrode and a part of the second electrode, an isolated island-like third electrode (16) constituting an electrode pair in conjunction with the second electrode (14). On a second substrate there is disposed an counter electrode (15) extending in the perpendicular direction intersecting the first electrode (13), the counter electrode (15) being opposed to a portion (16a) of the third electrode on the first substrate to accommodate therebetween conductive beads (7) for electrically connecting the counter electrode (15) and the third electrode (16) with each other in a liquid crystal. Then, by applying a voltage between the first electrode (13) and the counter electrode (15), a voltage is applied between the second electrode (14) and the third electrode (16) by way of the non-linear resistance element (9) and the conductive beads (7), thereby generating an electric field in the direction parallel to the surface of the substrate to turn molecules of the liquid crystal to the direction parallel to the surface of the substrate, to generate a contrast for display.

    摘要: In a spread sheet calculation apparatus, a spread sheet data table stores spread sheet data such as a sales table, a calculation formula table stores calculation formulas defining the calculation of the spread sheet data and a display device displays the spread sheet data and the calculation formula. When a desired area on a display screen is designated by an input device to enter data, a calculation formula control unit searches for a calculation formula which relates to the designated area from the calculation formula table and executes the calculation formula. A spread sheet data control unit updates the data of related areas of the spread sheet data table. A reference area extracting unit extracts the area which is to be updated by the calculation formula, and a display attribute control unit changes a display attribute (for example, meshing) of the data of the corresponding area in the spread sheet data table. A calculation formula list display control unit displays a list of calculation formulas stored in the calculation formula table and changes a display form of the calculation formulas contributed to the update of the data.

    摘要: An exhaust silencing device connected to an exhaust system of an engine is provided in which two outlet pipes that have at an upstream end thereof an opening portion opening within the silencer main body and that discharge exhaust gas within the silencer main body to an outside thereof are disposed within the silencer main body along a bottom thereof so that the distances thereof from the lowest part of the bottom are substantially equal, and the opening portion of one outlet pipe is directed further toward the bottom of the silencer main body than is the opening portion of the other outlet pipe. Such exhaust silencing device efficiently discharges to the outside the condensed water building up within the silencer main body so as not to impair an effect in reducing exhaust resistance by providing two outlet pipes that guide the exhaust gas to the outside.
