摘要: The disclosure relates to a method for determining the icing condition of a component of the exhaust-gas system of a motor vehicle that is not arranged directly in the exhaust-gas mass flow and/or of the feed line of the component. The method includes: determining a water quantity actually present in the component and in the feed line thereof and the state of aggregation of the water quantity; determining an energy quantity required for deicing and for volatilizing the water quantity; and determining an energy quantity supplied for deicing and for volatilizing the water quantity by radiated heat from components arranged directly in the exhaust-gas mass flow of the exhaust-gas system of the motor vehicle to the surroundings. The method also includes determining the icing condition of the component by comparing the energy quantity supplied for deicing and for volatilization with the energy quantity required for deicing and for volatilization.

摘要: There is provided a sensor unit 30 arranged in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine and including a filter member 31 having a plurality of cells divided by porous partition walls and collecting particulate matter in exhaust gas, and at least one pair of electrode members 32, 33 arranged to face each other with the cell interposed therebetween so as to form a capacitor, and a control unit 40 estimating an amount of the particulate matter in the exhaust gas and detecting water present in the exhaust system of the engine, based on an electrostatic capacitance between the pair of electrode members 32, 33.

摘要: The purpose of the present invention is to provide an exhaust purification device that is capable of adding an appropriate amount of urea solution without the need to directly measure the NOx emissions amount using an NOx measuring means. The exhaust purification device uses urea solution as a reducing agent for reducing nitrogen oxides within exhaust, and is provided with a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, and a control device. A map is stored in the control device, and in said map the real NOx emissions amount for each rotation speed and each load of an engine occurring at a predetermined air temperature and a predetermined absolute humidity are converted using a correction formula into a reference NOx emissions amount for each rotation speed and each load of the engine while in a standard state. Using the map, the control device calculates a reference NOx emissions amount that corresponds to the rotation speed detected by a rotation speed sensor and to the load detected by a load sensor, uses the correction formula to convert the reference NOx emissions amount into the real NOx emissions amount occurring at an air temperature and an absolute humidity, and calculates a urea solution addition amount.

摘要: A catalytic converter is obtained that can suppress deterioration in insulating ability between electrode members that is caused by moisture within exhaust. Insulating layers are provided at peripheries of electrode rods that are for energizing a catalyst carrier, and the electrode rods are insulated from a case tube. The catalyst carrier is structured of a material whose temperature rises due to application of voltage. Temperatures of the insulating layers are raised by applying voltage from a power supply to the catalyst carrier.

摘要: An exhaust silencing device connected to an exhaust system of an engine is provided in which two outlet pipes that have at an upstream end thereof an opening portion opening within the silencer main body and that discharge exhaust gas within the silencer main body to an outside thereof are disposed within the silencer main body along a bottom thereof so that the distances thereof from the lowest part of the bottom are substantially equal, and the opening portion of one outlet pipe is directed further toward the bottom of the silencer main body than is the opening portion of the other outlet pipe. Such exhaust silencing device efficiently discharges to the outside the condensed water building up within the silencer main body so as not to impair an effect in reducing exhaust resistance by providing two outlet pipes that guide the exhaust gas to the outside.

A starting device of a gas internal combustion engine 1 having an air starting device 30 includes a rotation-speed detection unit of the gas internal combustion engine 1, a compressed-air introduction unit 5 for supplying compressed air to each of cylinders according to an order of an ignition timing of the gas internal combustion engine 1, a compressed-air supply unit 3 for supplying the compressed air to the compressed-air introduction unit 5, and a control device 2 including a cumulative rotation-speed setting device 21 whereby an operator can set a threshold value of a cumulative rotation speed optionally, the control device 2 being configured to halt supply of the compressed air by the compressed-air supply unit 3 when a set cumulative rotation speed is achieved on the basis of the rotation speed detected by the rotation-speed detection unit.
