摘要： A portable engine-operated electric generator includes an engine having an output shaft and including heated and unheated components required for operation of the engine, a generator unit having an input shaft and drivable by the engine, the engine and the generator unit being vertically arranged, the output shaft of the engine and the input shaft of the generator unit being coupled to each other in axial alignment in a vertical direction, and a sound insulating case accommodating the engine and the generator unit and having a horizontal longitudinal axis. The heated and unheated components are separated from each other by, and located on opposite sides of, a plane lying in the vertical direction and in a direction normal to the horizontal longitudinal axis.

摘要： A post card is disclosed which includes a rectangular-shaped base member conforming in shape and size to requirements of the United Postal Service, and an opaque cover member of substantially smaller size than the base member attached to the base member. At least a portion of the information to be transmitted by use of the post card is carried in full view at one face of the base member. Another portion of the information is carried on one of the facing surfaces of the base and cover members for normally hiding such portion from view. At least a portion of the cover member, or a portion of the base member underlying the cover member, is removable by the recipient of the post card to expose to view such normally-hidden message portion. The portion of the message to be hidden may be imprinted before the cover member is attached to the base member. Alternatively, means may be included for transferring impressions entered on the cover member, or base member opposite the cover member, onto the underlying cover or base member to allow for the entering of the hidden portion of the message after the cover member is affixed to the base member.

摘要： A method of treating a plating sludge is disclosed, wherein a plating sludge, whose water content is decreased to not higher than 10% by weight, is mixed with scale, dust, both of which are formed in the alloy steel-making step, a binder and a carbonaceous material, and water is added to the mixture to adjust the water content of the mixture to 7-30% by weight, the mixture is kneaded and then molded into a briquet, and the briquet is subjected to a strength-improving treatment. The resulting briquet can be used as a raw material for ferroalloy. When the briquet is subjected to a reduction smelting to recover a metal, the metal can be used as a raw material for alloy steel.

摘要： An ignition timing control member extends through the center of a first vacuum chamber having a central movable sleeve adapted to be contacted by a flange on the control member to limit movement thereof in a direction to advance the ignition timing. The first vacuum chamber is connected to be responsive to vacuum intensity at a first vacuum outlet communicating with the engine intake passage near the throttle valve and upstream therefrom. The control member is moved by vacuum intensity within a second vacuum chamber connected through a selector valve assembly to a second vacuum outlet connected to the engine intake passage downstream from the throttle valve. An electric switch responsive to vacuum intensity in the first vacuum outlet interrupts an electrical circuit through a solenoid coil forming a part of the selector valve assembly, to cause its valve body to move from a first position connecting the second vacuum chamber to the second vacuum outlet to a second position connecting said second vacuum chamber to atmosphere.
