摘要： A device for injecting a gas into bulk material stored within a vessel to enhance the flow characteristics of the material. The device includes a housing to be mounted within an opening in the wall of the vessel and having a connection to a source of gas under pressure. The housing supports a porous metal filter element which permits the flow of gas into the material confined within the vessel but prevents the escape of the material into the pressurized gas system. The housing is designed so that it can be attached to the vessel wall entirely from the exterior of the vessel.

摘要： The hammers provide multiple impact points for debris, by providing impact points via tips at different radii from the axis of rotation of the hammer mill. The tips preferably are at substantially the same radius from the axis of rotation of the hammer about the hammer support shaft, so that efficiency is maintained even as the hammers lay back. The multiple impact points produce a more effective result, by partially sizing the debris on initial impact, before more precise final sizing in the grinding chamber. Angled surfaces on the hammer tips provide more effective shearing and tearing action than with conventional bar hammers. Wear patterns are such that grinding efficiency as the hammers wear down is maintained throughout the life of the replaceable tips. Preferably, the hammers weigh substantially more than conventional hammers, to provide a higher energy impact, and to reduce the tendency of the hammers to lay back.

摘要： Attachments for a power turn which power turn has a frame having arcuate inner and outer sidewall portions and support plates forming extensions of the arcuate outer side wall portion and on which are rotatably mounted a driving roll and an idler roll. An endless belt is journaled around the driving and idler rolls and is moved thereby. A cover is mounted on the arcuate outer sidewall portion to cover the outer portion of the endless belt and an endless chain secured thereto and has a main body portion and two removable end portions. One end portion covers a sprocket of the driving roll and portions of the endless chain and the second removable end portion covers a sprocket of the idler roll and portions of the endless chain so that the removable end portions may be readily removed when it is desired to inspect these portions of the driving and idler rolls. The cover has a top wall portion on which are mounted a plurality of lugs, each of which has a support portion spaced a distance above the top wall portion. A safeguard has an arcuate side wall with a plurality of lugs mounted thereon, each of which has a support portion and is positioned so that a portion thereof mates with an arcuate inner wall portion of said top wall portion and the support portions thereof are supported on the support portions of the top wall portion. Bolts and nuts are used to secure the support portions together. The two removable end portions each have a support lug mounted thereon adapted to be secured to a flange on the safeguard.

摘要： A railcar for transporting coal includes steel sheets metallized with an aluminum coating on the interior surfaces thereof normally engaged by coal lading. A coating thickness of substantially 0.006-0.009 inch significantly extends the service life of the railcar by inhibiting corrosion and abrasion of the steel sheets by the coal. The method includes the steps of cleaning all interior surfaces of the railcar sheets prior to a metallizing operation and followed by application of a seal coat.

The improvement is a belt tightener comprising a pair of spaced holding rollers engaging the under reach of the belt at one side thereof, a takeup roller mounted between the holding rollers at the opposite side of the belt and means to adjustably shift the takeup roller against the belt to move it between the holding rollers for taking up slack in the belt.
