Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a pad and sound transmission system which is adapted to directly transmit audible sound waves into the body at high intensity levels. In one embodiment, the subject invention includes a back pad and a seat pad. Each pad includes a speaker module having an acoustic speaker disposed within the pad and surrounded by a plurality of different layers.
Abstract:
A massaging device having an applicator driven by a plurality of driving unit to move along two or more different axes to generate a combined massaging action to be applied to the user's body. A controller holds individual speed data each defining a speed at which each of the driving units reciprocates the applicator along each of the different axes, and to control the driving units to reciprocate the applicator in accordance with the associated speed data. The controller controls the speed of the applicator along one of the axes independently from the speed of the applicator moving along another of the axes. Accordingly, the applicator's movements along the different axes can be free from being interfered with each other even being subject to a load, thereby assuring to continue the combined massaging action.
Abstract:
The invention provides a leg massage machine comprising recessed receiving portions and leg receiving portions which are made movable together rockingly for massaging the feet and calves of the user, respectively. The leg massage machine has recessed receiving portions (70) for inserting the respective feet of the user and leg receiving portions (74) for inserting the respective calves of the user, the recessed receiving portions (70) and the leg receiving portions (74) each having massage means on side walls and/or a bottom wall thereof. The massage machine has a base assembly (20) to be placed on the floor, and a reclining movable assembly (50) rockingly movable forward and rearward relative to the base assembly (20). The recessed receiving portions (70) and the leg receiving portions (74) are provided in the reclining movable assembly (50) and movable together rockingly.
Abstract:
An adjustable bed assembly includes a mattress platform, center frame, a head frame, a truss, and actuators for raising and lowering the head frame. The mattress platform may be made of wood. The center frame and/or the head frame members may be of tubular construction. The actuator may be controlled through a programmable logic controller (PLC). Alternatively, the PLC may execute actuator control according to user remote control instructions.
Abstract:
A massage device includes a base cover having a fix bore defined in its backside; a guiding device disposed in the base cover; and a moving base received in the base cover and movably mounted on the guiding device. The moving base has a securing hole defined therein. The massage device further includes a bolt with a locking portion, and the locking portion is inserted in both the fix bore and the securing hole.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing controlled heating, cooling and motion, in a device such as an active robotic automobile seat, are disclosed. A shape memory alloy (SMA) element, which changes shape upon application of a temperature change to the SMA element, is coupled to a thermoelectric device. Heat flows through the TED upon application of an electrical current through the TED. The apparatus is operable in one of a plurality of modes. In a first mode, a current is applied through the TED to cause a temperature change in the SMA element to change the shape of the SMA element. In a second mode, a current is applied to the TED to cause heat flow in a space adjacent to the apparatus. By controlling application of current to the TED, controlled motion, heating and cooling are achieved in the seat.
Abstract:
An air-tight foam-filled bladder is used for varying massage intensity in a massage chair, massage mat, or other massage device. The bladder may be compressed from a default or relaxed thickness by evacuating air from the bladder. The thickness of the foam-filled bladder may be reduced to a collapsed thickness in which the foam is compressed within the bladder. In use, the foam-filled bladder is placed proximate a conventional fixed massage mechanism in a massage device, such as in the back rest of a massage chair. By controlling the amount of air evacuated from the bladder, the intensity of the massage is controlled by varying the amount of pressure exerted by the fixed massage mechanism on the user. In the case of a massage chair, the user may advantageously sit back in the chair without discomfort when the user does not want a massage, and may control the intensity of the massage provided by the chair. In another embodiment, an active pump may be used to inflate one or more bladders that may or may not include a foam insert. The number, size and location of the bladders may be varied in any of the embodiments.
Abstract:
Systems and methods (“utility”) for providing sound healing to person are provided herein. The utility may include a table sized to support a person undergoing the sound healing session. The utility may also include a plurality of auxiliary support structures or platforms sized to support one or more sound generating devices (such as singing bowls or speakers). The auxiliary platforms may be adjustable in one or more directions, and may be selectively removable from the table. The utility may also include an electronic device operative to drive the sound generating devices to implement a sound healing session. Further, the utility may include a mat that includes a plurality of sound generating devices located in positions designed to coincide with chakras of a person lying on the mat. In addition other support structures (e.g., a chair) may be provided to facilitate sound healing sessions.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a massage device. In one embodiment, the massage device includes a massage assembly and a transmission assembly for driving the massage assembly to provide massage effects. The massage assembly includes a pair of massage members. Each massage member has a driving member having a pair of eccentric gears, a massage bracket engaged with the driving member and a plurality of massage heads attached to the massage bracket. The transmission assembly includes a hoist transmission mechanism.
