Abstract: An ottoman includes a support base, a reversible footrest that is removably supported in the support base and houses an electrically powered massager, and a compression band that is attached to the reversible footrest and extends over a top or bottom side of the reversible footrest, with the compression band being configured to compress a foot or feet of a user between the compression band and the reversible footrest. The reversible footrest has a first orientation in which the compression band is exposed outside the support base and a second orientation in which the compression band is stowed in the support base. The electrically powered massager is operable when the reversible footrest is in both the first orientation and in the second orientation.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure may include a portable therapeutic system comprises a table embedded with tactile transducers that deliver vibrational energy to key areas of a user's body. Once laid atop the table, the user's spine, shoulder blades, tailbone, and legs contact transducers preferably positioned around the underneath of the table length. The transducers receive input signals from an amplifier and convert these into finely calibrated vibrations. Users or practitioners may select frequencies targeting specific health conditions to promote overall wellness. Abstract: A stool is provided that provides a raised heel squat position to a user that engages the stool. The raised heel squatting position promotes a healthy and productive experience on a toilet. Abstract: This disclosure concerns a wireless communication system adapted to produce a closed-loop feedback scheme between a handheld remote control and an adjustable bed controller. The adjustable bed controller is adapted to, in response to a receipt of a motion command from the handheld remote control via the closed-loop feedback scheme, adjust, with feedback, a portion of an adjustable bed. The feedback is based on a comparison of sensor feedback and a predetermined position stored in a memory of the adjustable bed controller. The handheld remote control can receive, through the closed-loop feedback scheme, a returned confirmation reflecting the state of the position of the bed segment in response to the control signal.

Abstract: An upper-limb rehabilitation assisting device includes first and second handles coupled to first and second rotating shafts and rotationally operated by hands on a paralytic limb side and a healthy limb side; first and second biosignal detecting parts that detect first and second biosignals corresponding to the paralytic limb side and the healthy limb side; first and second drive parts that drive the first and second rotating shafts; and a control part that performs a cooperative control of the first rotating shaft and the second rotating shaft. The control part controls the torques of the first and second drive parts at the time of the cooperative control of the first and second rotating shafts the basis of the degree of cooperation between the first and second biosignals.

Abstract: A human body support, such as a chair, has a plurality of electrodes arranged in an array and spaced longitudinally with respect to the human body. The array extends from an inferior position to a more superior position along the body. A sensor measures a parameter of the human body that is capable of indicating the presence of drowsiness. A controller has an input connected to the sensor for receiving a signal representing the sensed parameter and has outputs connected to each of the electrodes. The controller detects whether the sensed parameter is within a range indicating the presence of drowsiness and applies a wave of electrical stimuli against the human body in response to detection of a sensed parameter within the range. The electrical stimuli cause periodic tightening and relaxing of proximate muscles as the wave progresses in a direction from an inferior location on the human body toward a more superior location.
