Abstract:
Wallboard compound is fed by gravity from a reservoir to the inlet of a positive displacement pump which pressurizes the compound and feeds it to a wallboard taping applicator. The pressure of the compound fed to the applicator is controlled within predetermined limits so as to provide an even and near instantaneous flow of compound to the applicator.
Abstract:
In a process for intermittently spraying a setting pasty composition mixed with a tempering liquid, in particular for building up refractory linings of metallurgical vessels, the composition is conveyed from a preparing station (6) at which it is prepared, to a delivery nozzle (11). In order to prevent the composition from thickening or hardening in the duct (15) leading to the delivery nozzle (11) when delivery is interrupted, it is conveyed during delivery stops in a circuit that includes the delivery nozzle (11).
Abstract:
A spray concrete composition which is sprayed with driving-air pressure has its setting time accelerated by incorporation in the driving air of amorphous silica dust having an inner surface (specific surface area) of at least 25 m.sup.2 /g.
Abstract:
In some examples, a method comprising: controlling a first ratio of a first liquid to a second liquid to form a first suspension comprising a powder and a first carrier liquid composition comprising at least one of the first liquid or the second liquid; directing the first suspension comprising the first carrier liquid and the powder to a plume of a thermal spray device; forming a first portion of a coating comprising the powder on a substrate from the first suspension; controlling a second ratio of the first liquid to the second liquid to form a second suspension comprising a second carrier liquid composition and the powder; directing the second suspension comprising the second carrier liquid composition and the powder to the plume of the thermal spray device; and forming a second portion of the coating comprising the powder on the substrate from the second suspension.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a slurry spraying or installation system (10) including a gun means (12), a spray nozzle (17) and a conduit (16) connecting said gun means (12) to said spray nozzle (17), said gun means (12) including a pump means to move dry particulate towards said nozzle along said conduit (16), wherein between said gun means (12) and said nozzle (17) is a mixing device (20) which receives said dry particulate and mixes same with liquid under a greater pressure than the pressure that said dry particulate is under, so as to form a liquid and dry particulate mixture; said mixture being fed to said nozzle (17) for dispensing to a target.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for mixing and dispensing a powder material in an aqueous solution wherein the powder material is premixed into solution by a spreader. The premix solution is subsequently dispensed in a diluted aqueous stream by a venturi proportioner. In a preferred manner a hopper is provided for the powder material which is partially positioned in a mixing chamber. A valve and spreader are positioned at the base of the hopper.

Abstract:
A device for generating a pressurized stream of treating media including a vessel (4) containing the treating media (6), a pressurized fluid delivery assembly (16) for delivering a pressurized fluid to the vessel (4) and a conduit (14) for transporting the treating media (6) out of the vessel (4) which has been pressurized through the pressurized fluid.
Abstract:
A slurry composition for mending a deteriorated surface of a concrete structure. The slurry includes an acrylic emulsion type elastic paint suspended by glass fibers cut from glass fiber strands. Prior to the formation of the slurry, the chopped glass fiber strands are immersed to a suitable solvent such as a toluene so that any size (spinning oil) applied to the filaments during their spinning operation are removed. The slurry is applied to the deteriorated surface of a concrete structure so that a reinforcing coating is created on the surface of the concrete structure.
