Abstract:
An apparatus for smoothing an inner toothing and/or an outer toothing of a component part. At least two radially adjustable smoothing gears, which engage in the inner toothing and/or outer toothing, are rotatably arranged inside the inner toothing and/or outside of the outer toothing. During smoothing, the component part is not firmly clamped but rather only rests loosely on a support. A thrust ring is provided at least at one of the smoothing gears for limiting axial movements of the component part, which occur during smoothing.
Abstract:
A method for producing an internally and/or externally toothed pot-shaped sheet metal part having teeth extending toward the pot center axis, wherein an un-toothed pot-shaped sheet metal part is inserted into a die and then, by means of a relative movement between the sheet metal part and associated profile rollers, a profile is rolled onto the pot-shaped sheet metal part by the profile rollers applied to the sheet metal part and thus alternating internal and external gear teeth are applied to the sheet metal part, wherein the profile rollers form the sheet metal part oriented radially from the inside toward the outside, in that the profile rollers roll along the inner circumference of the sheet metal part.
Abstract:
A novel method of manufacturing a toothed disc is taught wherein the teeth can be cold formed to a relatively high set of tolerances in a relatively time-efficient manner. A cold-formed disc blank with an annular thickened ring about its periphery is forced through a set of tooth forming rollers which engage the annular thickened ring. As the blank is forced through the set of rollers, the rollers cold forming tooth structures in the annular ring. In some circumstances, the tooth structure can be a final desired tooth profile and in other circumstances, the disc blank may be forced through two or more different sets of tooth forming rollers, each set of tooth forming rollers contributing to the forming of the final, desired tooth profile.
