摘要： A composite lid formed of plastic resin and paperboard is disclosed along with a method of making the lid. The lid has a primary panel of paperboard defining its center and a plurality of secondary panels, also of paperboard, continuously attached to the perimeter of the primary panel and oriented perpendicularly to its plane. A skirt of plastic resin is attached to the inside surfaces of the secondary panels, the secondary panels being in edge abutting relationship and totally covering the skirt. The primary and secondary panels thus form a lid having a continuous outer surface capable of receiving a print media, the continuous outer surface extending entirely over the lid. A bar of resin is provided around the inside surface of the primary panel and resin spokes connect the bar to the skirt. Raised segments are positioned intermittently around the inside surface of the skirt, the segments engaging a container to hold the lid in place. Sealing ribs are also formed on the inside surface of the skirt which engage the container and provide a seal between it and the container. The method of making the lid includes the steps of providing the primary and secondary panels, folding the secondary panels to form inside surfaces of the lid and injecting resin onto the inside surfaces to form the skirt.

摘要： A container assembly includes a container member having an open end, and a lid threadably engagable with the container member for closing the open end of the container member. A locking member is provided on the lid which is engagable with a latch member located on an upper surface of the container member. The locking member is pivotable about a horizontal axis and prevents rotation of the lid with respect to the container member when the locking member is engaged with the latch member. A seal is provided between the lid and the container member. The seal is located between tapered wall members of the lid and the container member such that the seal is gradually compressed as the lid is threadably secured to the container member. The configuration of the lid and the container member, along with the seal, presents a torturous path for fluid movement, thus effectively sealing the container assembly.

摘要： Disclosed is a closure for a container, such as a blow molded jug having a neck surrounding an opening therein, the closure having a first annular portion and a second annular portion. The first annular portion in the closure has a wiper seal and a lip seal. The second annular portion exerts an upward pressure on the lip seal which causes improved sealing and leak-tight properties during shipping, handling, etc. The upward pressure also enhances the effectiveness of the wiper seal. The second annular portion may include an annular tear skirt having a pull tab for the removal thereof to facilitate removal of the closure from the container. The closure may also include a plug seal, and a lower annular portion extending from the second annular portion.

摘要： A container and sealing closure therefor, includes a container body part having an access opening and includes a continuous peripheral wall surrounding the access opening, and a closure part. The wall of the body part has a peripherally extending continuous sealing edge portion at its upper outer surface, the edge portion being coextensive with the wall. The closure part has a resilient skirt portion. The sealing edge portion of the wall of the container part has a sharp apex forming an included angle of substantially 90 degrees. The skirt portion of the closure part is adapted to mate in spaced relation, with the peripheral wall of the container part and has an inner surface which extends obliquely with respect to the peripheral wall of the body part and which is adapted to engage the apex. There are provided coengaging structural elements on the container body and closure parts, holding the resilient skirt portion of the closure part forcibly against the apex as the closure part is advanced against the container body part to a sealing, closed position thereon.

The upper edges of the lid are also rounded and run smoothly into the reinforcing wall. The lid includes ribs which, when the lid is placed on the lower part, come to lie onto corresponding ribs of the lower part. The lid is connected to the lower part by a snapping mechanism. The lid includes an opening, into which a ledge of the snapping mechanism can be snapped in. This ledge is accessible through this opening to release the ledge to disengage the opening.

摘要： A cover having an exterior crown provided with a hole which is designed to be fixed onto an outer edge of a vat. The cover has a rigid inner capsule for blocking the hole. When the cover is in a final position, the inner capsule which is attached to the crown by a hooked locking device, is elastically engaged. The inner capsule also has a provisional position, in which it is placed in a movable position across the hole, in an inverted position. The cover can be easily removed and placed in its final position by an automatic vat filling installation. The cover is preferably manufactured from a synthetic substance, and has application in the field of conditioning bulk good, such as grains, powders or pastes.

The side wall of the container includes an inner wall and an outer wall at the open end and the closure includes a depending skirt which extends into the area between the inner wall and the outer wall. Three static seals are provided with a first radially extending seal defined by an end of the inner wall and an inner surface of the closure. A second static seal is defined by abutting surfaces of a pair of ridges, an outwardly extending annular ridge formed on the inner wall and an inwardly extending annular ridge formed on an inner surface of the skirt. A third static seal is formed by an inwardly facing annular surface formed on the outer wall and an outwardly facing annular surface formed on an outer surface of the skirt. A dynamic seal is provided as additional protection against pressure changes which could tend to break the first static seal. The dynamic seal is formed by an outwardly facing annular sealing surface on the inner wall and an inwardly and downwardly extending annular lip formed on an inner surface of the closure.

The container has an out-turned lip of inverted U-section having a circumferential horizontal flange supporting an upright retention portion with a retaining bead. The lid has a rim portion which is also of inverted U-section, the web of the U having a formation engaging a complementary formation on the lip of the container to provide location and sealing connection between the lid and container, and the outer limb being outwardly cranked and forming a depending skirt having a retaining formation which interlocks with the retaining formation.Part of the flange is extended to form a tab which is removable at a line of weakening to facilitate separation of the lid and container. Removal of the tab indicates that the container has been opened or at least that it has been tampered with.

摘要： A tamper-evident lid for use with containers includes a surface to cover the container, and downward projections around the periphery of the surface which surround the mouth of said container. A continuous ring is affixed to the downward projections. A plurality of tamper-evident hooks are frangibly attached to said ring. The hooks are visible through openings in the downward projections. The hooks engage the container, but when the lid is removed, the hooks fracture away from the ring and the tampering with the package is apparent. In the preferred embodiment, a bead on the lid engages the sidewall of the container to provide a resealable, airtight seal.
