摘要: A constant velocity ball joint is disclosed. The constant velocity ball joint may be a counter track joint, and may include first and second track pairs that form an opposite opening angle. The first track pairs may be provided with a track inflection point. The second track pairs may each form a second track centerline that has a path other than a singular circular path in a section between the central joint plane and the connection side.

The center line (M22) of the outer ball tracks (22) towards a first side (S1) departs, radially inwardly, a reference radius centered in the point of intersection between a perpendicular line on tangents (T22) at the center line (M22), and the longitudinal axis (L12). The center line (M23) of the inner ball tracks (23) towards a second side (S2) departs, radially inwardly, a reference radius centered in the point of intersection of a perpendicular line on the tangent at the center line (M23), and the longitudinal axis (L13). In the outer joint part, from the joint center plane (EM) to the second side (S2), the center line (M22) moves beyond the reference radius radially outwardly. In the inner joint part (13), from the joint center plane (EM) to the first side (S1), the center line (M23) moves beyond the reference radius, radially outwardly.

摘要: Wedge angles are formed between mutually facing central track-groove portions (11b, 12b, 21b, 22b) of an outer joint member (1) and an inner joint member (2). Track grooves (11, 12) provided to the outer joint member (1) and track grooves (21, 22) provided to the inner joint member (2) include a first pair of track grooves (11, 21) respectively including the central track-groove portions (11b, 21b) forming therebetween the wedge angle (α) opening to an opening side of the outer joint member (1) under a state in which an operating angle is 0°, and a second pair of track grooves (12, 22) respectively including the central track-groove portions (12b, 22b) oppositely forming therebetween the wedge angle (β) opening to an inner-end side of the outer joint member (1) under the state in which the operating angle is 0° . Both the first track groove (11) and the second track groove (12) of the outer joint member (1) include opening-side track-groove portions (11c, 12c) connected respectively to the central track-groove portions (11b, 12b) directly, each of the opening-side track-groove portions (11c, 12c) being formed in such a shape as to be free from an undercut toward the opening side. Accordingly, it is possible to manufacture at low cost a high-efficient fixed type constant velocity universal joint which involves less torque loss.

摘要: A constant velocity twin ball joint, having an outer joint part with outer ball tracks, an inner joint part with inner ball tracks. Circumferentially adjoining pairs of tracks, comprise center lines of the outer and inner ball tracks which, when the longitudinal axes are aligned, are positioned in planes which extend parallel relative to one another and are symmetric relative to the longitudinal axes. A ball cage is positioned between the outer joint part and the inner joint part and comprises circumferentially distributed cage windows which each accommodate pairs of balls of adjoining pairs of tracks positioned in parallel planes. The circumferential length of second cage windows for second pairs of balls is smaller than the circumferential length of first cage windows for first pairs of balls.

摘要: A constant velocity fixed joint having an outer joint part (12) with outer ball tracks (221, 222), an inner joint part (13) with inner ball tracks (231, 232), the outer ball tracks and the inner ball tracks forming pairs of tracks (211, 231; 222, 232), the pairs of tracks each accommodate a torque transmitting ball (141, 142). Each two adjoining pairs of tracks comprise outer ball tracks with center lines in planes extending substantially parallel relative to one another, as well as inner ball tracks with center lines in planes extending substantially parallel relative to one another. An annular ball cage (16) is positioned between the outer joint part (12) and the inner joint part (13). In an aligned joint, centers of the balls are held by the ball cage in the joint center plane and when the joint is articulated, they are guided onto the angle-bisecting plane between the longitudinal axes. The track cross-sections of the outer ball tracks and of the inner ball tracks of each pair of tracks are symmetrical relative to the axes of symmetry which, together with the planes, form identically sized angles opening in opposite directions, and each comprise a common point.

A fixed type constant velocity joint comprising a cylindrical joint outer ring having an inner spherical surface formed with a plurality of circumferentially equispaced axially extending track grooves, a joint inner ring having an outer spherical surface formed with a plurality of circumferentially equispaced axially extending track grooves, a plurality of balls disposed in ball tracks defined by cooperation between the track grooves in the joint outer and inner rings, a cage for holding the balls disposed in the ball tracks, and a stem shaft located rearwardly of the joint inner ring for axially supporting the joint inner ring, wherein the rear open end of the joint outer ring has an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the joint inner ring, and the inner diameter surface of the cage is such that the region located forwardly of the axial center is an inner spherical surface having a shape capable of controlling the forward movement of the joint inner ring while the region located rearwardly thereof is an inner cylindrical surface having a shape capable of allowing the axial movement of the joint inner ring.

摘要: A constant velocity universal joint comprises an outer joint element having a spherical cavity therein and an inner joint element positioned within the spherical cavity. A plurality of torque transmitting balls are positioned within pairs of opposed grooves formed in the opposing spherical surfaces of the inner and outer joint elements. Ball retaining means are disposed between the joint elements. The ball retaining means has an inner spherical surface co-acting with the outer spherical surface of the inner joint member and an outer spherical surface co-acting with the spherical surface of the cavity of the outer joint element. The number of grooves in each joint element is divisible by two but is at least four and the center line of each groove lies in a plane spaced from the axis of rotation of the joint element and parallel thereto.
